A group of Vulcan's crash land on Earth in the 1950s (right around the time Sputnik was launched; it is referenced in the show), and three survive.  The three have to blend into the culture around them and do their best to understand a species that seems to "devote what little technology they have to finding new ways to destroy themselves." However, do all humans fall into this broad generalization? Are their people who don't fit into these stereotypes/labels and actually share interests that are similar to Vulcans, such as peace, intellectual cultivation, and a curiosity to explore the unknown?
