My right arm has been going numb almost every night while I sleep this past month. Really annoying. And then it feels like shit the rest of the day. For whatever reason I keep positioning myself in really awkward positions that put pressure on my right shoulder.
My ignore list

Quote:Zubin Mehta and Anoushka Shankar
The Indian sitar player Ravi Shankar was one of the great musical intermediaries between East and West. His work Raga-Mālā links the art of sitar improvisation with the performed playing of a classical concert: an exciting journey into a faraway world. The soloist in this performance is the composer’s daughter Anoushka Shankar; the conductor is Zubin Mehta, who was his friend for many years. Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra concludes the evening
Very interesting.

The Sitar is very limited dynamically, and I'm not 100% convinced it makes for an effective solo instrument in front of a symphony orchestra. I think the instrument's strength is its capability to use notes outside fixed western 12 tone tunings, and if you pitch it against an orchestra esp. including winds, that limits the strengths of the instrument. The solo piece she is playing now shines much more.
