I took my daughter to school a bit late this morning. Half an hour. First time ever.
Well, they marked her as absent for the whole day which I'll have to sort out tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the school has sent my ex a text asking why my daughter was absent.
Then she rang me this arvo and left me a voice mail going off at me for being so irresponsible as to not contact the principal's office and why didn't I contact her and so on.
She had a proper fucking rant, she did.
Not only that, she tried to ring me previous to that call and accidentally left the voicemail going where she is complaining to her boyfriend about me, swearing, banging things and carrying on.
It's left me a little rattled as I thought we had finally left all that shit in the past.
I even thought we might be able to consider ourselves friends with a very important common interest.
Maybe she's had a really bad day and is just over reacting.
Two things I know for sure.
One, I'm a much better parent then her and there are a myriad of ways in which I'm more responsible, thoughtful and caring.
And two, I feel really sorry for that poor bastard she's going out with.
