What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Sometimes, I feel like the oddball out around here, never having felt the need to attend a psychiatrist, nor psychologist, nor any psy--whatever.
That way, I can be crazy and not know it! Wink

I have discussed it with him, but he doesn't seem overly concerned. Undecided

Tell him you'd like to know what your options are if you want to reduce the effects. He may suggest reducing the dose(s) of your current medication or replacing some of them. Then ask him what to expect if you choose to try those things. If you're concerned. It's always good to know and you never know, some of it may be worth trying.

Poca, me neither, but I have to learn a lot of these things for uni, drugs and neuroscience and mental disorders, addiction, etc. etc.

What am I up to? Well, contemplating dinner. I had had a soup of orange/lager fettucine, spanish sausage, garlic, onion, pinto beans, and cumin. But I didn't boil the pasta long enough, or something. It is all congealed mush now. Not that it's not edible, but it is extremely unsightly.

Sounds like a Taco Bell night!

Well, believe me, I have needed it. When I was 3 my mother took me to a therapist because I was so upset when I came home from visiting my biological father and could not tell her why. My therapy consisted of learning "feeling words" and acting out scenarios with puppets. I don't remember when or why I stopped going.

Then when I was 8, my biological father died, and I was so relieved, but felt immensely guilty about it. Those conflicting emotions caused a great deal of turmoil, and of course my peers had not experienced anything like that and could not understand what I was going through. I went to therapy for a while, and then didn't feel I needed it anymore and stopped.

Then when I was 12, being overwhelmed with ADHD and being closeted drove me the closest I've ever been to suicide. Most of the stress was relieved when I started homeschooling, so pretty soon after that, I stopped going.

Then when I was 14, I fully realized I was gay and was agonizing over the prospect of coming out. Out of guilt I started harming myself, and I was instantly addicted to it. I confessed I had been hurting myself to my mother and she just said, "STOP!" And I did stop. I had some lapses, but I was mostly better. Then I came out to my family, and it went better than I ever imagined. I saw a therapist for a while to deal with my anxiety over being gay.

Then when I was about to enter college, I wanted to enter with every possible advantage, so I went to my current psychiatrist so that I could start medicating my ADHD and major depression. He also wanted me to see a psychologist for talk therapy. Before I started my medication, I hadn't realized how much I was struggling against my own brain every day of my life just to get by. I learned what it felt like to be happy. I had good reason to resist medication as long as I did, (my grandmother was prescribed drugs to treat her depression and became addicted to prescription drugs) but now I really wish I hadn't. I just think of all those years, feeling so miserable, and not realizing that things could be better. I know for sure that I never want to go back to how it was.

They say irritability is a symptom of depression. I don't think they know what the fuck they're talking about. I'm depressed and I'm not the least bit fucking irritable, those fucking cunts.

I actually ate the slop. It wasn't terrible. Just a bit bland.

Now I am watching an Olympic behind-the scenes thing on NBC.

Roneedee made me pee
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.
