Had a clarinet lesson after work, stopped off for coffee and a cupcake, and then came home and cleaned stuff. Dishes are done, downstairs bathroom is wiped down, and laundry is put away. (Pretty good mileage for one cupcake.)

Listening to a bunch of music. Dishwalla's (yeah, yeah, shut up

At work having some coffee and looking at the traffic outside the window.
Up and awake when I should still be in bed.

Looking at electric and microwave rice cookers on Amazon, watching videos about them, and reading the reviews. My ILS worker keeps suggesting that I get a rice cooker because I eat a lot of rice. Normally I just buy those ready-to-heat rice pouches and just use those. They're quick, just the right amount for one person, and require no cleanup. An electric rice cooker would require 45 minutes to an hour to cook the rice. I don't know how long the microwave rice cookers require, but since most of them are plastic, that makes cleanup more difficult. Most rice cookers are designed to cook enough rice for a small family, but I'm only one person, so that is less than ideal. I also would need to clean the rice cooker, or rice cooker insert, almost daily, which is difficult for me as I am missing nine fingers and so I can't hold the pot with one hand while cleaning it with the other. I also have chronic depression, which means I frequently lack the motivation to take care of even simple tasks. In the past, that has led to frequent episodes of dishes piling up in the sink, leading to even less motivation to wash them, and ultimately simply not cooking and eating at home.
I don't see much to recommend me buying a rice cooker, but she keeps bugging me about it..... ![]() (May 15, 2018 at 9:55 am)Jörmungandr Wrote: Looking at electric and microwave rice cookers on Amazon, watching videos about them, and reading the reviews. When I cook rice, I do it in a normal pot. Sure it gets dirty and needs cleaning afterwards, but I cook enough for some 4 to 6 meals and only clean the pot when it's empty. Hooray for refrigerators! I can't understand the allure of a device dedicated to cooking a single thing, when a normal pot does pretty much the same job.
Eating a yummy and healthy lunch whilst watching Netflix and reading the forums. #itscalledmultitasking
