RE: What's everyone up to right now?

Man, this cord cutting can get complicated. This morning I discovered that even though I get the NFL network via Sling TV, 11 of the Thursday Night Football games that will be simulcast on FOX TV will be blacked out on Sling TV. However, I can get those games from Amazon because I'm an Amazon Prime subscriber. However, I don't plan on renewing my Amazon Prime membership, and that runs out mid-November, leaving a month and a half uncovered. Enter Twitch, an Amazon owned network for gaming videos, which will also broadcast the games. Except Amazon pulled the Twitch app from the Roku, so you have to use third party apps to access it.
OMG, it's so confusing!

Started the day by making a batch of buttermilk biscuits. It was originally going to be pancakes, but my daughter wasn't up yet and pancakes are best fresh.
Did some pruning in the front yard, removing various dangling branches. At least now the mailman can get a running start when the Nanjing cherry tree tries to eat him. I also strategically removed a few branches of an apple tree that was drooping down into my yard, allowing those limbs to spring back up to a more sensible level.
Thinking of acquiring some new raspberry bushes and planting them in the back yard, and clearing out the patch in the front yard. The current ones just aren't producing a lot of fruit anymore, and are essentially just a wall of prickly green sticks with occasional dots of red. (The blackberry bush, however, is finally mature enough and there are some very nice-looking berries starting to ripen.)
The rest of the day is going to be mostly puttering around, but at some point I'll feel compelled to go out for a drive somewhere. Coffee or ice cream are both distinct possibilities.

Having another hot flash. Annoyingly, it's going on 90 minutes now and I'm soaked in sweat.
Been having them from time to time, med interaction of some kind.
Annoying as anything.

I've got a pea and ham soup on.
It's still too watery and won't be ready for an hour or two but I'm hungry right now.
Might have to have cuppa and some vegemite toast to tide me over.

Watching a rebroadcast of yesterday's Twins baseball game. Unfortunately the 10 o'clock news spoiled the ending for me, but thankfully it's a win, and supposedly an exciting one, so I'll watch it anyway.
Heh. Playing with my Roku. There's a media player app that comes already installed for playing media from a USB drive or stick, but it doesn't reference 'USB' in the name. A quick search of the app store reveals people selling 'USB' apps to do the same thing for $2 a month, or $4 one time, for those who don't realize the ability comes pre-installed on the Roku. People are such dicks.

I’m on a boat, heading to a tanker at anchor for a tank inspection. Sunrise on the Mississippi River is always worth losing a little sleep over.

Well that was an exciting game, including a bench clearing argument and a walk-off grand slam. I almost wish I'd watched it live instead of taking a nap yesterday. I say almost, because exciting as it was, the live game was 4 hours and 40 minutes long. The replay of the game is condensed into two hours.
