Hmmmm. I should have known better than to go to Amazon on Prime Day. Now I'm contemplating a Fire HD 10 which is $50 off to replace my crappy android tablet. Glug.

Sitting at my desk building a new medicine cabinet for the upstairs bathroom.  Got the sides cut, and am marking where to drill the holes for the adjustable shelves.

The last few bits of finish carpentry in the bathroom (this cabinet, and doors for the cabinet under the sink) are long overdue, as 95% of the work was done circa 2013-14.  Every now and then, my renovation schedule decides to operate on geologic time.   Tongue

Carpentry! Kickin' ass. Can we see a pic of the finished article, after it is installed?

Pics?  Sure!  It won't be anything special to look at, just clear-coated pine, but I had to custom-build because it has to fit into a weirdly-shaped space.

I have photos of the first part of the renovations here and if you look above the washbasin you should be able to see the bare studs where the cabinet will go.  Had to design around an old chimney in the corner of the room, and ended up putting the countertop at an angle.

The part I'm most pleased with is how the tiles around the bathtub turned out.  All that careful measuring and cutting and aligning really paid off.

You did all that? I'm impressed! I think I saw at least some of your pics before, here.  I hired the tile done in the master bath (floor, tub/shower walls, vanity), in '04. Of course, my excuse is that I was gone for 6 months on travel, and the wife was adamant that it be done soon. It helped that she also had a paying job, so paying for it was relatively painless. The tile guy took so long to get back to finish the built-in shelf to the right of the vanity that I went and bought some poplar boards and built and installed myself. He did give me a refund on that portion of what would have been his labor, for that shelving. I did manage to install a Jacuzzi tub and new plumbing to the bathtub before I went gypsy.

Be careful what you wish for. Those Fire tablets are shackled androids.

I'm satisfied with my HD 7. But rooting it made it much more useful.

Sixty-two hours and counting nicotine free thanks to an anti smoking drug called Champix. The stuff is a godsend and has made this pretty painless so far. I have a very good feeling about this that I'm going to be able to keep it up, and already starting to dream about what I'll do if I do... would like to maybe join a gym... something that always seemed pretty pointless as a smoker.

I haven't found any info on rooting the HD 10, so I don't know. Otherwise it would be even more of a 'win'.
