Up a little earlier than usual, about 9'ish. Today is a non-Meals-on-wheels day, so lunch will probably be kimchi and rice. The Twins baseball game is on at an odd time today, starting at three o'clock, rather than midday or evening. That will be nice. Late enough that I'm fully awake, but early enough that I can watch a movie and get some reading done afterwards. For whatever reason, I only do things requiring effort when it's on towards evening. Mornings and afternoons are for coasting until my energy kicks in.

Listening to industrial on Pandora and getting ready for some shameless face stuffing with garbage pizza, and later a movie.

Doing office work from my home. Yeah I know... never bring it upon yourself... don't give the boss ideas... but well let's just say I'm kinda cornered.

After a lot of fussing to get the miters on the corner trim just right (or as right as one can get without cabinetmaking tools), my built-in bathroom cabinet is now essentially complete: [link]
Haven't decided yet whether I want some kind of door there. If I do go that route, it'll probably have to be some accordion-fold thingamajig so that it doesn't crash into the sink spout. (BTW, I love having that high spout -- you can fill virtually any kind of container under the tap, and also use it as a water fountain.)
Also tried to figure out how pork carnitas work, and got something fairly edible (garlic-and-chili pulled pork, and some coleslaw flavoured with lime juice, on a corn tortilla).

I just got paid to go fishing for seven hours.
I love my job.
As a bonus, I heard that an ex-employer of mine, who I dislike immensely, got a bar maid up the duff, his wife then divorced him and he ran the business into the ground.
Ha, suck eggs motherfucker.

I actually feel healthier already.
I found this snack called quinoa crackers and it tastes much better than I thought it would.
I'm really happy about that, it's the highlight of my day.
If you stop eating meat I might have to punch ya.

Quinoa tastes just like meat IMO anyway, despite being a grain... so as far as superfoods go that's another reason to like it. It just has negative associations for me so purely psychologically, almost like a phobia, I can't eat the stuff (since they remind me of caviar in form when cooked, so every bite feels like I imagine it would when eating caviar... like genocide of hundreds of innocent little fish eggs in every teaspoon full... so I cringe when trying to eat quinoa on account of that despite it's lovely taste, masses of health benefits, and interesting cultural heritage (a staple food of the Incas)), but maybe in another form I might be able to... so I think I'm going to go looking for these quinoa crackers myself

Still, has to be an improvement over the cheesy polenta with sausage and onions which Meals-on-wheels is bringing me today.

I'm not quite so sure given the stuff I just bought Got the closest (and only) thing I could find to Quinoa crackers in my local supermarket... Ryvita "Rye Crispbread" topped with 'Red Quinoa'. Basically it's like eating cardboard or chipboard, and not something that would seem to be out of place lining a hamster cage So back to the drawing board.. I think I'm going to have to find a bigger supermarket if I'm gonna find a better selection, and I want something that's not just topped with quinoa but made of it. But this'll do for the moment; at least it should help with my weight loss goals.. at the cost of any taste whatsoever
