I'm not quite so sure given the stuff I just bought Wink Got the closest (and only) thing I could find to Quinoa crackers in my local supermarket... Ryvita "Rye Crispbread" topped with 'Red Quinoa'. Basically it's like eating cardboard or chipboard, and not something that would seem to be out of place lining a hamster cage Wink So back to the drawing board.. I think I'm going to have to find a bigger supermarket if I'm gonna find a better selection, and I want something that's not just topped with quinoa but made of it. But this'll do for the moment; at least it should help with my weight loss goals.. at the cost of any taste whatsoever Wink

I love rye crisp bread! Infidel!

Hmm Big Grin Maybe it'll grow on me... especially if I put something on it Wink Other than that I'm sure it's healthy - high in protein and fibre... so that's reason enough to eat it for me... but it has a long way to go before it's a tasty nom nom nom snack for me Wink

If you want fibre... or something that has the same effect, try these: Tesco Fig Roll Biscuits.
I've tried other brands, but these from Tesco are my favorites... just try to avoid eating a whole pack in one day...

Yes, I know they have much more sugars than the Rye things, but if you eat enough of them, you'll retain almost none of the sugar Tongue

That's the whole trick with fruits. Fructose (the sugar in most fruits) is only processed in the liver (like alcohol) and it then results in localized fat near the liver - aka, the belly.... just like alcohol... and excessive consumption can lead to cirrhosis, just like alcohol.
But we can avoid having too much fructose, if we eat an accompanying dose of fibre, as we do when we eat fruit - apples, pears, peaches, etc always with skin. This fibre causes the sugar (and some other ingested stuff) to stay on course along the intestine, instead of sticking around and entering the blood stream.
It is known that there are some substances which are not fibres, but have the same flowing result... and figs rank up there on those.

Is that something like a fig newton? I've never seen the aforementioned biscuits. Doesn't the word biscuit mean something different over there than over here?

Yeah Jor... they are what you've pictured. Thanks for the suggestion poca... and the warnings Wink I used to have them a lot as a kid... and yeah, I think I remember that effect Big Grin Good to know they up there on the fibre scales.. and certainly more palatable than this Rye Crispbread (sorry Jor Wink) so I might give em a go for old time's sake.

Since I'm on this trip down memory lane, IIRC even more laxative in effect are those pink wafer biscuits... remember them? Absolutely sickening in large amounts... had them as a kid as well but if I never see another one in my life it will be too soon Wink

Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

I'm not sure tbh... we do use the term 'cookies' as well... though it may just be an import... like when things try to sell us the 'authentic American experience' as things do from time to time Wink But generally I do think of buscuits and cookies as different, with cookies being much bigger and rougher... usually with chocolate chips. A real treat especially when hand made/freshly baked. Do you have things like Digestives? That you'd have with your tea/coffee? If so, do you call them buscuits or cookies? Anything like that I'd call a buscuit and never a cookie... so the cookie for me is reserved for the big irregular things described which it doesn't feel right to call buscuits.
