Some of you are probably sick of the chatter about my pet, but I'm okay with that.
Ebby is home. She's on steroids, antibiotics and a nausea medication. The steroids will be long term. It will take between 3 to 5 days for results on blood work to come back from the emergency er. They are also testing some of the fluid from her belly as they suspect lymphoma. Surgery is not an option. If she does not respond to the steroid treatments, then we will not go any further.
Right now, she's hiding in the cat carrier with the door open.

Oh, I read mine as well. To the tune of sometimes more than one a day.
Hi, I'm TGB, and I'm a book junkie.
I have so many books you might not believe it. Reading one in a day is something I seldom do. But I have boxes and boxes, and shelves all over with books on them. A lot of them are math or physics texts, and they don't yield themselves up easily to being read quickly. Some I have spent many months working through. Now that I'm retired, I can't find the heart to get rid of all that sage learning, even if I will never use them again...except for a couple.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

I would believe it. I have over 300 hard bound books (including four signed firsts), over 800 paper backs, nearly 2500 e-books and almost as many audio books, though there's a lot of overlap between audio and the various versions of print.
I read a lot!
And, I'm always looking for the next new read.

The two logistical problems regarding my Business 101 course are either solved or in the process of being solved.
Dinner problem: there’s a kosher deli near my home. It may be more than a bit out of the way and they’re a bit more expensive than Subway, but they make some damn good sandwiches (and pretty filling), and I think that next Wednesday, I’ll call in a Roasted Turkey on Kaiser (no vegetables, condiments, or pickle) to fill me up for the dinnertime clAss, and hopefully things will go smoothly.
Textbook problem: got a message back from the professor saying, verbatim: “I think bookstore is correct. We will get the code to you.“ He hasn’t done it yet, but he still has five days until the next class, and presumably, he’ll let us off the hook for not being able to read the chapters he assigned us.

So I went to the markets today with a client and we watched a Canadian lady sing and play the guitar.
We do this every Saturday.
I had a few reports to catch up on so I pulled out my Ipad and got to work.
One of the songs finished and without looking up I clapped as usual.
But after a few seconds of clapping I noticed that I was the only one doing it.
I looked up and she had left the stage and I was clapping to the end of a recording, one of her interval songs.
I had a few strange looks from the crowd. :-)

Studying for the PhD admission test. If this goes well, it means 3 years of scholarship and lab fun.
"Every luxury has a deep price. Every indulgence, a cosmic cost. Each fiber of pleasure you experience causes equivalent pain somewhere else. This is the first law of emodynamics [sic]. Joy can be neither created nor destroyed. The balance of happiness is constant.
Fact: Every time you eat a bite of cake, someone gets horsewhipped.
Facter: Every time two people kiss, an orphanage collapses.
Factest: Every time a baby is born, an innocent animal is severely mocked for its physical appearance. Don't be a pleasure hog. Your every smile is a dagger. Happiness is murder.
Vote "yes" on Proposition 1321. Think of some kids. Some kids."
