Again with the ringers?
Nah, playin' the home game now. I took my cue from Bill the Galactic Hero. Fifty-five gallon drum of equal parts glucose and ethyl alcohol, delivered by IV. See ya next month.

Looking over the absentee voting materials I have received. There is going to be additional information related to the abuse allegations against Keith Ellison coming out in the coming weeks and I'm feeling less confident about the process of absentee voting overall, so I at this point would prefer to wait and vote in person on election day. However, I have not been able to find clear information or instructions on how to do that now that I have received my ballot. My best understanding is that I need to return the absentee ballot to an authorized election office, but it's far from clear. I've sent an email to the email address on the envelope that my absentee ballot came in. Hopefully they, or someone at the elections office will be able to help me.
You can fill out your absentee ballot ahead of time, and drop it off at the polling place. I've done that and saved quite a bit of time.

Do I need to have it witnessed if I do that, or can I just show up with the ballot alone without any witness statement?
I received notice that a device for hooking up your home phone to the internet so you can use a google phone number (free) in place of your existing phone service is on sale for $40, which is $10 off its usual price. My current phone service is Magic Jack which costs $40 a year plus like $12 a year for 911 service. I would save money by using this device and depending on my cell for 911 service, but I don't know that the service would be as good. I get absolutely no spam or unsolicited calls on my Magic Jack number, whereas that seems to be a legitimate problem with google numbers. So I'm conflicted.

It's been a dog's age ago, but all I recall is that I presented myself to a poll worker and was allowed to put the envelope in the shredder absentee voter mail slot.

Yes, that's the device I'm looking at. Newegg's regular price is $49.99. There's a $10 subscriber coupon on it through the end of the month.

Here's how things went down for my business class:
* About 20 minutes before work ended, I called in my sandwich at Kaufman's Deli. Honestly, the hardest part was actually getting there, and also trying to get back to the car before the guy in the little grey sports car tries to run you over. Yes, that happened.
* The teacher in the business 101 class is still having trouble with the publisher over accessibility of the text. Apparently, the instructor can access the text, but only as a student. And the students can't access it at all. But at least we have PowerPoints of each chapter.
* We did two group exercises: one about the strengths and weaknesses of certain personality types (he used the " True Colors" test, I got Green), and an assignment about reopening a tennis raquet factory. One question I tried to keep bringing up in the group is "how did it close originally, and how do we make sure we don't repeat the same mistakes?" People weren't too hot about that question. Naturally, when he asked the rest of the class about what questions they found themselves wanting to ask, that question was literally the first one to come out of another group's mouth.
And when I came home, I found that Dad had been doing some shopping, and he got more materials to help with the problems we were having with the amplifier, everything from a 6.5" speaker powerful enough for the full power of the amp, to plans to bridge the two speaker channels (and possibly create a circuit for a line out jack), and even some AA battery trays to create a big battery pack capable of handling the 12 volt, 3 amp power. (By my calculations, it should last about 8 hours before a major battery change.) He's got plans for some of the bugs with the input, possibly involving a 1/4" mono to RCA stereo adapter. And maybe we'll figure out how to get the Vox amps font and create a "Vaux" logo for it.
