What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Spent some time wrestling with some wood screws with stripped heads and managed to get most of them out. A couple will have to be drilled out, but I left that for another day.

Then my daughter and I had a sweet-tooth attack and started cooking. I made peanut butter fudge and a double batch of chocolate chip cookies; she made barfi, a fudge-like candy from India that contains sugar, powdered milk, and ground cashews.

Mildly startled by the 10:15 mouse as it went running through the dining room. Re-baited the mouse trap, as the little sod purloined the last piece of peanut butter bread I left for him.

Currently relaxing with a snoot of Scotch after transcribing/rewriting another five pages of one of my NaNoWriMo novels.

I keep looking over at the cat's dishes thinking Ebby is there. The other furbabies know something is wrong. They're especially clingy to me since I came home without the matriarch yesterday morning. Even Pickles, who usually just hisses when startled, has been hanging out on the couch just to be near me.

I miss my girl. Sad

I just dropped Squish off for his next round of chemo.

He's eating and has put on weight. And he can be fast when he sees me approaching with a towel to wrap around him.

He knows it means either his pills or he's going in the cage.

All of my cats go in the carriers easily. We leave the carriers in the living room, doors open, with towels inside for them to lay on. Dill just walked in the large one. We present them as a safe place for them to go whenever they need it. Consequently, we have no issues getting them to go in the carriers when it's time for vet visits.

Relaxing after work.
I start my holidays tomorrow, only five days, and I'm driving 12 hrs to Mackay with me daughter.
Should be interesting.
Can't wait to hit the beach again. :-)

Trying to wake up. I am NOT a morning person.

I received my absentee ballot yesterday, and will likely file that Monday.  In the meantime I need to figure out how to respond to state Democratic AG candidate Keith Ellison and the charges that he abused his former partner, Karen Monahan.  I'm leaning toward simply not casting a vote in that race, but it seems like an abdication of responsibility.

Is a write-in vote an option?

I don't know if it is or it isn't. To my view, unless a lot of people were writing in a specific person, a write-in vote would be a pointless gesture. No better than not voting in that race at all. And I've always been an advocate of coloring within the lines, so to speak. That if the pool of candidates has winnowed to two or three, it is just resisting the process to vote outside of the selected candidates, so a write-in would be being somewhat inconsistent with my prior views.
