What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Cleaning house, and around it. Well not right now, but I did earlier today.

Phone call from the vet. Tests on the liquid in Ebby's belly showed no signs of cancer. The baseball sized tumor in her belly was not falling apart, but it was constricting blood vessels enough that it was causing bleeding. Even if she was younger and healthier, her outcome would have been the same. She would not have been able to get the surgery to remove the mass because it would have been too risky. So I need to feel better knowing that putting her to sleep was the right thing to do. The vet did say that everyone there absolutely knew how much I loved her given my breakdown while I was there on Monday.

So the PhD saga is over, I passed the oral exam as well but the results will be disclosed only a month from now (did I mention that I HATE bureaucracy with a burning passion?)

There are 11 people for 3 PhD spots, I hope I made it.

Now I'll only have to write the thesis for my MSc in... 3 days... Graduation is a little more than 2 weeks away. Looking to be more active around here after I graduate Big Grin

Congratulations!

Also, send me the details of the other 10 people. You can get all three Ph.Ds, right?

I decided to take a little walk to get some exercise and a little fresh air. Passing by a liquor store inspired me to bus it to my favorite discount liquor store in hopes of scoring a bargain. My general druthers was for a small bottle of something, Jagermeister, or maybe Goldschlager's. At the liquor store, I discovered the small bottle of Jagermeister, 375 ml, was not particularly well priced at $10.99. And the large bottle, 750 ml, was $17.99. I remembered that Target had the large bottle for $16.99, so I hopped on another bus to save a buck and get some more exercise. At Target, I found the bottle was actually $15.99, and with discounts from using my Target debit card and bringing my own bag, it came to $15.14, plus tax. Not a bad savings, though I would have preferred a smaller bottle.

Tonight is pizza night. I can have a frozen pizza, or, it being the final week of the month, I can splurge and order my favorite pizza, an everything pizza with sauerkraut and banana peppers on top from Red Savoy. I haven't decided, because I'm actually starting to enjoy saving money, but it would be a delight to pull out all the stops tonight.

2 people can be spared, they are nice. We can arrange the "disposal" of the rest Tongue

3yr old's birthday today. Cooking up chicken and t-bone steaks as demanded. Veggies didn't even make the list.

Guess I'll get started on constructing several pairs of concrete shoes.

Oh - in the interest of inflation and my being out of work now - I'm gonna have to charge double my usual clean up rate. Plus.. that's a lot of shoes to lug around.

Given the expected flotation rate of the average person (if you were taught to float as a kid, you know what I mean), one 60 pound sack of concrete mix should be good for ten people. That amount won't drag them all the way to the bottom like a sack per each, but will be enough to drown them and keep them far enough below the surface to avoid detection until the fish are finished with them. As long as the concrete is cured first, they won't be able to kick to the surface, so it'll work OK.
