RE: What's everyone up to right now?

Got Joseph Frank’s biography of Dostoevsky at the HPB educators sale (using my Dad’s card to get 20% off).
We also talked with one of the best amp guys in Chicago for help with the Vaux amp I’ve been talking about. We talked about potentially putting in a switch to bypass the stock Baxandall tone stack in the power amp (the AC-tone has a 3-band EQ and there’s no point in a second one, especially if, if the tone stack app is any indication, this one will actually wind up with a big lower-mid hump at the “neutral position” (assuming that they don’t need to change the stock Rin and RL values, because those I can’t calculate from the schematic I posted here
earlier.)
We talked about the design, and here’s my (very precise) blueprint for what the amp should look like.
Note: we’re recomsidering the “kalimba channel” proposal, and it may or may not end up in the final amp. At any rate, Dad has bought some Vox grill cloth and I’ve got some hardware for the amp (including new knobs, box corners, and the handle.) My “Voice of the Vox, portability of the Pignose, but still potentially loud enough to be a stage amp” idea still stands, and it may end up working. Hopefully, we’ll write down the instructions for how to build it and share it with the world. Presumably, it’ll still work for Fender, Mesa Boogie, And Marshall fans because Joyo makes cheap, but good, preamp pedals like the AC-Tone for those brands, and those will still be familiar enough that what works with the AC-Tone will work with those pedals.
