Seriously, though, the staff do sound like a bunch of incompetents. If you're going to forcibly hold a kid down, of course he's going to fucking lash out.

Ya, but..you know...you can't actually say it, or they might decide that my other son, a kindergartner, is mujahideen stepping out the distance from the wire to the cafeteria for the mortars his 4th grade pom pom waving sister set up in the brush.  

Seriously, though, the staff do sound like a bunch of incompetents.  If you're going to forcibly hold a kid down, of course he's going to fucking lash out.

As difficult as it is for me, I understand their situation.  Miss, otoh....emphatically does not.  So that's why I'm running point on this.  Her first instinct was to just start saying the words "lawyer" and "lawsuit" and "significant damages" and "continuing pattern of institutional child abuse" over and over and over - which would have clammed them up and put them into an even shittier cya mode.  

...but I do get it.  A kid who punched another kid and said he wished he was sometimes dead, threatened to kill adults who were doing what they think is their super swell job, and then played shoot em up in the counselors office while waiting for his daddy (who was also going to kill them, talk about missed opportunities) to come scoop his butt.

He has a foul mouth - that's a real problem that we have to get under control, and..yes, he's responding very poorly to adult authority other than my own....though it seems like they might have had something to do with that.  So...as long as they button their own shit up tight by this afternoon..I'm willing to let this be an amicable split between parties who just don't love each other anymore, lol.  In fairness to them..the principal himself has been super helpful, even if he's not exactly working with the best people in his shitshow of a school.  He's helping me to coordinate all of this and has indicated that should we ever change our minds, he has confidence that our children could be reintegrated np....and you can just hear the palpable relief in his voice at how this all turned out when he and I put our minds together.  


Or maybe he's just an ass who's glad it aint his problem no more - either way, this is the way forward.

We've got a ton of snow here with the weather changing over into freezing rain. The landlord hasn't been out to plow the parking lot.
Given the weather, I won't be picking up my rings this evening. While I'm sad about it, I'd much rather be safe. The store is in Maryland, an hour and a half away. Right now, we have 5 and a half inches of snow on the ground.

Jeez. They're calling for .26 inches of ice on top of the snow we got. Not a good thing. Ice brings down tree limbs and power lines. Yuck. Between Midnight to 5am, this shit is supposed to transition back to snow tomorrow. According to the news, traffic is just miserable with major roads closed due to accidents.

What normally takes 17 minutes to get from York to Harrisburg, is taking an hour. I imagine Rob's drive home from Baltimore isn't going to be pleasant. Poor guy doesn't know the back roads and the short cuts like I do. I might just make some soup tonight for dinner.
