Something a bit more prosaic:

The temperature was 38 C here yesterday (41 forecast for today)

Went out to check the mail. Must have left the screen door partly ajar. Major, my distressingly energetic Jack Russell got out, and went leaping joyfully into various yards . In baggy cargo shorts with large, crappy old hat, I hobbled along in pursuit. Then he noticed the rabbit hutch next door. Major loves rabbits.

I spent the next half hour trying to nail the little bastard as he went around the hutch, barking. Finally able to catch him using forked stick I found to pin him to the ground.. Didn't hurt him . He had THE bestest time. Came inside, had a drink, and then wanted me to play with him and his ball. Dogs are such simple creatures

So glad I live at the base of a cul de sac half way down a hill, away from main roads..

Every month or two (or sometime in between), I take a set of clippers to my head and cut my hair short. I got into this habit when I went to Norte Dame High School and I had to keep my hair below a certain length and figured there had to be something better than going up to my parents and saying “Hey, can we go to Supercuts? The dean told me I need to be have it cut or I’ll end up in detention” every two weeks. And then, I got a set of Con Air hair clippers at Burlington Coat Factory and I figured out how to do it myself. I’ve used it for over a decade. And it certainly helps keep my fisherman’s cap at a reasonable level of tightness.

I decided to shear myself tonight, but something strange happened. The box I keep the clippers and comb guides in somehow got waterlogged. I had to disassemble part of the clippers, clean it out, and let it dry just so I didn’t get shocked when I tried to use it. Eventually, I decided it was dry enough, and it actually worked. Sure, I needed to move the washing machine just so I could find a crucial screw (to keep the blade and guard attached to the clipper) and a crucial comb guard, but I found them pretty quickly, even if I needed one of my headlamps to find them.

Drinking coffee. My alarm didn't go off, but I was up at a good time anyway, so, no worries. Headed to the gym in a couple hours.

Hey everyone. Remember me? 
Anyways I got an email form an AFer I used to chat with asking where I was. Felt good, haha. Glad to see this place is going strong and y'all seem to have gotten over all the tumult in between. Kudos. 
Smol life update: I, actually, have a lot of time on my hands these days, what with college apps and the school year being over. Have a bunch of fun/productive things to keep myself busy, but it's still a pretty leisurely ride right now. I'm not complaining, busy student life starts in a few months so I might as well enjoy this while it lasts lol. 
I got into two of the best public U's in the US (pretty sure some of you live in those two states) and even if I don't get in anywhere else anymore, I'm excited asf bout the choices I have. But I'll know come April anyways. I'm actually also going on a US trip this April-May (leisure plus checking out colleges I've been accepted to), so partially escaping the Indian summer heat and I couldn't be happier. Meeting an internet friend in Amsterdam just before that. 
Basically, life's good. I stopped coming to AF because honestly things had gotten weird and quite a few of the posters I used to like left. Felt like it was time to quietly leave, so I did. It's not like I have a shortage of things to do on the internet anyways, lol. I don't quite feel the pull of AF anymore, but who knows, maybe I'll be back someday. Anyways, have a good day/week/month/year/life, y'all.
