No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.
Just finished an Anglotopia column about Richard Ashcroft winning the royalties back to "Bitter Sweet Symphony."
If you know the song, you might know that the band sampled an orchestral version of The Rolling Stones' "The Last Time" and Allan Klein sued The Verve and took away all the royalties to the song and gave them all to Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. However, listening to it, it seems like the arranger changed the iconic guitar riff of the famous song so much that it's virtually impossible to call it the same song. That didn't seem to be part of the rationale behind Mick and Keef giving the royalties back, however, it's just another symptom of how fucking broken copyright law is.

Trying this for the first time. It supposedly contains a highly-effective fast-acting combination of GABA, melatonin, and tryptophan and will put me to sleep in half an hour.
Yeah. We'll see about that. And time starts...now! ![]() Tastes...not good at all. Strike two. Strike one was that it cost over 3 bucks for a 2.5 oz bottle. ![]() This shit better work. *1 hour later: Well that was a waste.
We found an amazing house which was overpriced even with two previous price reductions - clearly the sellers were nuts. We made an offer where we felt the house should be priced and they accepted.
We like this one better than the other two, and it's less expensive than both.
Left home for work to find this greeting me:
![]() Yes, the new Criterion Blu-Ray of Funny Games I ordered yesterday came in a record time of one day, 2 hours, and 50 minutes.

Having a couple dozen margaritas at a swim up bar in Ensenada.
Enjoying our honeymoon.
Since I somehow managed to get the worst film I've ever seen two weeks in a row, this week in the Deep Hurting Project will include something I at least know has some occasional redeeming qualities: Catwoman. They may be few and far between (they wouldn't have made the Deep Hurting Project if they weren't), but they're at least still there.

Seriously considering the idea of looking around here (Baja Norte) for a vacation / rental / retirement home. We saw a cute bungalow in a gated community we could pretty easily afford especially if we can get some rental income.
