RE: What's everyone up to right now?

Just watched this video:
Note the mention of the Starling, how it was allegedly introduced into the Americas solely because it appeared in the works of Shakespeare.
That context? From Henry IV, Part 1, Act I, Scene 3, lines 553-61:
Hotspur (Henry Percy). Nay, I will; that's flat:
He said he would not ransom Mortimer;
Forbad my tongue to speak of Mortimer;
But I will find him when he lies asleep,
And in his ear I'll holla 'Mortimer!'
Nay,
I'll have a starling shall be taught to speak
Nothing but 'Mortimer,' and give it him
To keep his anger still in motion.
A species was introduced into the United States solely because Shakespeare once mentioned it, and why did he mention it? As a means to torment King Henry IV into releasing Edmund Mortimer from the clutches of Owen Glendower. Talk about missing the bloody point!

I've discovered a community I didn't even know I had. A woman I met at an event outside the gym brought it to my attention that she attended the same fitness classes that I do. I vaguely recognized her, but I had not connected the two. She said hi and we chatted briefly this morning. And another person who attends the fitness classes was at the PRIDE parade yesterday and he had noticed me marching in it and took the time to let me know.

The Jensen Mod 6-15 speaker sounds great with the Vaux. And now for a proper full-frontal shot:
Of course, the logo is temporary, and we need to get a new grille to reinforce that cloth so it doesn’t look so saggy, and, of course, we need to find out exactly how exactly they fucked up the tone stack switch. But it’s actually largely complete otherwise.

Reading more about donating blood plasma, which I recently started doing. Most of the concerns about short term ill effects are not founded on scientific research, though long term, regular donation of blood plasma has shown signs of leading to various compromises of the immune system. That is pretty spot on with what my doctor told me, though he did not make the distinction between short term donation practice and long term, which is important. I've in the past week been having some bodily effects that are out of the ordinary for me which leaves me wondering if my recent donations had anything to do with it. However, one of the articles I read made the very valid point that relying upon anecdotal data instead of scientific evidence is foolish, and for my part, it's no less foolish if the anecdote is my own. Still, there is a natural tendency to value first hand experience over and above both the experience of others and scientific data.
Tonight I get to see the Twins play baseball in person, though the players are likely to appear smaller than I'm used to seeing from my perspective in the left field bleachers. I've got practically nothing else on my agenda today, except that I do need to knock out 30+ pages in a philosophy book for a Wednesday meeting. I had planned to do that last night, but after having had little space in my day to even breathe lately, I chose instead to watch the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees game, imbibe various beverages, and cease to care about anything that even slightly had the possibility to harsh my mellow.
Oh, and yesterday my ILS worker helped me make an Instant Pot filled with turkey chili. It ended up being a combo beef and turkey chili, but it turned out very well, and I learned some things, including the range of variation possible for the dish while still achieving a successful result. Late last night I had the master stroke to realize that I wasn't particularly limited in the things I could add to a chili, seeing as it already had a cup of chopped celery in it, and so I pulled a bag of frozen, chopped okra pieces that had been languishing in my freezer and added a cup or so of okra to the mix.

Came back from work to find that the computer seemed to crash and freeze sometime around 2:34. Also, the router needed to be power cycled because there was no Internet access. I suspect those may have something to do with each other. I can’t be sure of that, but since antivirus scans have shown nothing else might be the problem, I’m just going to conclude that, since Firefox updated as soon as I restarted the computer and the router wasn’t working when I came home, the two were related. They might not be, but I know if I keep worrying about it, my worries are going to go straight to my GI tract and since it’s dinnertime, I really don’t want that.

An anime series about quiz bowls... I wonder if the dub's been produced yet.
