I had a weird night tonight.
I was getting drugs from my dealer's place and a dude who lives there got arrested by the cops. Domestic.
I'm sitting in the lounge with a pocketful while the boys in blue are eyeballing everything and everyone.
I wasn't worried...dogs, different story.
Then I went to a friend's house unannounced and he was wining and dining the second last girl I was seeing.
I knew what was going on the second he opened the door and I also knew I'd fucked it up for him.
She's not too fond of me and pretty much left straight away. I think he was worried I might be cranky too.
I wasn't worried at all. :-)

So, here's a rundown of what happened in my life today:

• Watched the last of the videos on the JCS - Criminal Psychology channel I hadn't seen, including a new upload, which, while very different from the hour-long analysis of interrogation technique and the perp's reaction, proves to be both an insightful look at the appeal of the antihero and a demonstration about how to properly handle a police interrogation:
  
  
  
• Dad ordered a camera for me since he saw me trying to open up the SD card for my old one and noticed that the old one (which had been all but completely unusable since 2016) was in horrible condition (what with the battery latch being broken.) I hadn't bothered since I have my iPhone AND it has an app that allows it to look like two-strip Technicolor, but nonetheless, I'm now the owner of a Nikon A300 Coolipix. The learning curve is strangely difficult since the little wheel thing is a bit too sensitive. 
  
• Got more than a little concerned over the whole "stick goes all the way down your nose" thing before my COVID test on Wednesday. Then I managed to watch this and found, to my surprise, that it takes about two seconds:
  
  
  
• Got a practical bumper crop of CDs and DVDs from the library today: the new albums of The 1975, Thundercat, and The Strokes, plus DVDs of Modern Romance, The Newton Boys, and this week's entry in the Deep Hurting Project: Witless Protection.
  
• Listened to the "Gef The Talking Mongoose" episode of Last Podcast on the Left, and strangely, I can actually imagine this being a family film: a family in the middle of nowhere bond with their mischevious talking mustelid who keeps his verbosity a secret from the outside world.

The COVID test wasn’t as bad as I feared, just two uncomfortable seconds with something up my nose and then it was over. And if I test negative, they won’t tell me anything. Still have to stay at home in quarantine until Friday when I have my PFT. That said, the fact that I lost my health insurance card did prove to be a minor kerfuffle. Still recuperating from trying to deconstruct and reconstruct my bed to see if it was there, though (it wasn’t), and having to create a portal ID for the service and create THREE separate new passwords.
