To keep with tradition we will adopt a variation of an ancient method from legend.

He who can put a sword through my skull will get the title.  Those who try and fail will get to spend the rest of 2020 with Iggy.

Then, when the future AF king or queen succeeds, a watery trollop will throw a sword at you.

Wait?

Aren't we supposed to get the first sword out before we put another sword in?

Went to the doctor for the PFT today. Apparently, despite having been diagnosed with asthma in my younger days, my lung capacity is apparently in the 90th percentile. Though I suspect it might be a bit inflated (pun not intended) since I suspect she might have taken some extra time not noticing when I signaled that my lungs are completely empty.

On a lighter note, this week in the Deep Hurting Project will be the 1999 animated version of The King and I. I suspect I'll have to watch the original 1956 version first. I might add Jack and Jill and Oogieloves if the Library can be arsed to find them before next Friday.

Now that China is plagued by locusts in areas, they'll no doubt start eating them... I'm sure they eat weirder stuff than that.
(I couldn't even watch a doco where they were serving defanged huge ass fried spiders, with the parents baby sitting on the ground playing with a big bowl of them.
They were crawling all over him. That's when I clicked that they are defanged and harmless)

The Aussies call locusts "sky prawns"! Yeah, right. Is that supposed to make me hungry?
I remember them being popular on pizzas in some weirdo restaurants years ago. It was the in thing.





Are any of you guys a "Survivor". If things get bad, could you eat shit like this? lol (oops, my privileged white ass is showing again!)

The Reverend going out for the Fourth of July (which is pretty much limited to going to Superdawg for lunch and Half-Price Books afterward.)



And, for the record, the mask with the Basque flag arrived yesterday, although I just didn’t think it would do to just have a Germany bolo.

Also, currently watching the original film of The King and I (in preparation for watching the remake for the Deep Hurting Project.) It’s good, even if its interpretation of Thai history is about as accurate as Tuptim’s take on Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Its portrayals of Thailand are dodgy as fuck, but at least Rodgers and Hammerstein (probably more the latter, since he’s the one who wrote the words) were clearly trying to make a message about respecting other cultures and trying to figure out their perspectives. They may not have succeeded all the way (especially by the standards of 2020), but at least they tried.

So, surgery day is tomorrow.  Which means today I'm sitting in my hotel room, drinking lots of water and gatorade and just recently, I drank an entire 10 oz bottle of magnesium citrate.  And I can't eat anything so until I drank that magnesium citrate, I was really hungry.  

Wish me luck and don't expect a prompt response; I'll be incapacitated for much/most of tomorrow.  And when I am conscious, I'll probably be groggy and out of it.
