Went up to the building supply for some flagstone. Got 4 big stones (~2' X 2-1/2') and one small stone about a third that size. 234 pounds, $34. Rocks are cheap!

At this point, Dad and I are seriously considering not even going up to Wisconsin at all this summer for the first time in my life. Partly because there's a distinct possibility that this illness won't be resolved by a Tuesday appointment with the doctor, partly because people have been flocking up to Door County at levels previously unheard of, partly because quite a few of those people are anti-maskers, and partly most of the things we usually do are closed or are working at severely reduced hours. That said, later today, I intend to watch one of the films I planned to bring up for the Deep Hurting Project, the only one I bought specifically for the Project, and my one-time candidate for the worst film of all time (if you can count the 25 or so minutes' worth of frame story padded out by an entire filmed fairy tale completely unrelated to the frame story COMPLETE WITH CREDITS): Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny. Is it worse than A Certain Sacrifice? Tune in to the Last Movie You Watched Thread later today to find the answers.

We went for a nice cruise for lunch yesterday. Unlike in Melbourne, here in Queensland I've got no excuse to take it out because the weather is amazing every day! (and it's the middle of winter here!)
I did enjoy blowing the cobwebs off though (I've driven 7,000 miles in 17 years! That's the crappy Melbourne weather for ya)
But I'm not happy that a few of the hotrods here have Ford bodies with Chev motors in them! I know why, but it just doesn't feel right.

Are Fords that much more expensive to rebuild than Chevies? I can understand it with Buick, because it was way cheaper to put a Chevy engine in my Skylark.

Husband had a black Mustang when we were first married...complete with Chevy motor. He has been a mechanic for years and is a 'car guy'. He hates the mechanics of Ford but likes the body style of the Mustang. I am pretty sure the first thing he did when he got that car was tear out the Ford motor on principle.

You sure? Lot's of work involved in that Chevy motors aren't better or worse. I love a chevy with a chevy motor and I love a ford with a ford motor.
I'm not really a fan boy of anybody. (both corporates can both get stuffed!). Fireball, they put the sbc motors into hot rods, not because of cost, but because they fit!

Lots of work, yes. But improving on a car (in his opinion) was enough of a passion that it wasn't work to him.
Things have changed over the years and I can't even tell you the last time he changed the oil in one of his, or my, vehicles. I guess having his head stuck under the hood of a car or being under a car on a creeper lost it's allure and I am pretty sure it was when autos moved to being computerized.
