Okay, here's the current updates on my condition: When I woke up, it took a while to get my face washed, because the discharge in my eye had dried up, and so had the discharge in my nostrils. For what it's worth, I managed to swallow a big lump of the nasal discharge just before going to sleep last night. For the first time since the surgery, I managed to take a dump, although I think I needed to discontinue my pain meds temporarily and take three laxatives in order to pull it off. Fortunately, the pain's nowhere near as bad as it was during the weekend.

Tying up some lose ends in preparation of getting the fuck out of this dysfunctional country. We were planning on doing it when I retire in sixish years but I can do my work from anywhere so we're setting things in motion after the election.

I have seriously been considering leaving, because I simply do not want to get stuck in this country if things go seriously sideways. Unfortunately, the boyfriend won't be going with me, because he is rather naive regarding his thoughts on this being better than any other country in the world.

Neither. We can't get into Canada or most of Europe at the moment and my plan for the last 20 years has been Mexico / Latin America.

I was trying to remember why I get into a funk every year around this time - and then I remember...duh....my first's b-day. The surprising thing here is that I have so much distance from it, now, that I had to think about it for more than a few seconds.
