Sitting with my foot propped up after having a loose screw (and bunion) removed from my left big toe. It's interesting about pain. Doesn't hurt much, yet. But in '84 I dropped a disc brake rotor and the lathe mandrel it was in on my foot. It was hot, just coming off the vehicle, so I was holding it in rags, and it slipped. I finished the brake job, with blood about 1-1/2" deep in my work boot...which was not safety-toed, as I had bought them just a few months previous and didn't want to drop the extra $10, since I was graduating Uni in a few months. Should have spent the money, methinks. Now I sit with my foot propped up. Being 37 years older, I guess I've earned it.

If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

It's no fun being laid up with an injury or illness.

I haven't even picked up my new air fryer and I'm already looking at the next one. I was thinking about skipping this one and buying one that does everything that I want, but the Ninja Foodi which I could afford doesn't have extra racks and baskets available. So the primary option for an upgrade is $400 plus the cost of extra racks. That's a bit too steep for today until I'm wedded to the convenience of a large air fryer. The one I'm picking up was over half off at $90 and seems a good place to start. And supposedly I can order extra racks for it.

So, this afternoon was hectic. I checked my email and noticed that I had something like 32 items due to the library today. I could not renew any of them. And I couldn't put out a hold on any, either. I went to the library to ask about it, and it turned out I needed to give them my phone number and everything would be good. So, I did and they reactivated my card. And then they told me that they were going to enforce a 30 DVD limit that they had not been enforcing since they started to reopen in June. Bear in mind, I've been checking out somewhere between 4 and 7 a week and usually only returning them when the three automatic renewals were up. So, I have a lot more than 30 DVDs. I realised I needed to have a mass culling of the DVDs I checked out. But that had to wait because Dad was going to have the "Django" name laser-burned into the headstock of the archtop and Dad wanted me to go with. It took about an hour and a half and I could barely see any of it (what with the whole operation being based out of a guy's basement and the printer being in a room so narrow only he could actually see it), but he did it. And then, after going home and getting some things at Jewel, I finally did my mass culling, limiting my rented DVDs to about 19 or 20. The number of DVDs that got cut? 49. Fortunately, I went back to the library around 4 and returned all 49. It was so massive that, when they printed out everything I returned, they had to do TWO sheets. And, through all this, well, I'm currently eating dinner. The only thing I had to eat in the day before this were a three-pack of Gluten-Free Wasa flatbreads with sea salt and sesame seeds and a Reeses bar. Somehow, my body was okay with this.

Resting my knee after it intersected our tile floor while under the influence of gravity - the same knee that had an ACL reconstruction and meniscectomy a handful of years ago after a bicycling accident. I'm pretty sure the allograft didn't hold. A week before that, I had another fall that caused some kind of unspecific soft tissue damage in my back. I don't know if there's any point in going to the doctor, I'm almost certainly not going to subject myself to another surgery and a year of difficult physical therapy.

Well, I leaned on a ladder while waiting for the CAD guy to laser the name into the archtop's headstock, and it caused the CO2 alarm to unplug and replug itself for no reason. Though I did lean forward and it was one of those mini ladders (one which led to a crawlspace). Does that count?

My work week is done. Thankfully, I was little cranky this week about some things that went on.
Now to get some things done around the house then a nice soak in the tub while I figure out what to do and what to watch. I've again run out of Netflix series that interest me. Gonna be a rainy day starting later...perhaps a nap is in order on this dreary day.
