I set up my new sous vide cooker. I may have overdone it with the size of the steaks. The containers I was going to use were too small. Fortunately I have a 12-quart stockpot which is nice and tall. (And which I recently dented when it slid off the kitchen towel that I had set it on. I was so mad at myself. I pounded out the dent as best I could with a rubber mallet, but it will never be the same again. Thankfully the lid still fits.)

Thinking I need to go spend some time with my son tomorrow if he doesn't have to work. He called today as he had been contacted by a step sister who is known to stir up shit. His father wants to see him...they haven't even spoken since 2009 and haven't seen each other for a few years before that. His father has spent all these years helping support step kids, step grandkids, and the daughter that was conceived when I was pregnant with our son, but not supporting his son. Son is really stressed over this. I guess even when almost 35 there are times you still need your mom. I am glad he thought he could call and talk to me about it.

Good news: I spent a lot of today cleaning up my room.

Bad news: I did so because I checked out a copy of Hereditary from the library and it's coming due. The disc seems to still exist, but the case for it does not. And, yes, I've deconstructed and reconstructed everything in my room that isn't nailed down and found absolutely nothing.
