And rain is uncommon enough here in southern California that most people drive slow until they get used to it. The exception is asshats in raised 4WD trucks driving way over the speed limit in the rain. I'll never understand that.

Asshats gotta asshat, I guess.

All of the people on the roads here must have selective short term memory. The first snow hits is when you see the most people in the ditch, missing street signs and mashed in bumpers.

By the second snow their memory seems to have magically returned.

It was announced a little while ago that the stores around here are out of milk. Comments included pictures of lines at groceries stores so long that you couldn't see the front.

It is sleeting a bit but will only last a day or two.

Let the panic commence.

When we were in SC, a mention of the tiniest possibility of a snowflake falling from the sky meant you literally had minutes to get to the store before there was nothing left but olives and bags of charcoal....long, long before COVID.

It was actually sort of interesting to watch.  People acted as though they would never get to go to a store again.

Trying to figure out what to do with the day. It's COLD outside and not terribly warm in the house. Our office is closed today and my work from home is limited by the Internet going in and out.

Also watching the cat sit on the bottom step of the stairs we have for the puppy to get up and down from the couch...the cat is obviously saying, "You shall not pass." The cat is such a jerk.
