Paula Abdul claims that she retired from performing due to injuries sustained in a plane crash in 1992. Except, strangely, there's zero record of said plane crash.

At points, she's even claimed she was paralysed for five years due to said crash. And now for a clip from her 1997 appearance on Muppets Tonight (filmed during the period where she's supposed to be paralyzed) that I'm posting for no reason whatsoever.

Someone left Dad this banjo.

It says it’s a May Bell banjo, but Dad can’t find anything else like it on the internet. Evidently, the head will have to be replaced, and there might be other things necessary to make it playable. At this point, I’m thinking that I might end up setting this one for Sawmill tuning, maybe swap out what side the silver hand rest goes to accommodate my playing style, perhaps even adding a pickup somehow.

Why Sawmill tuning? If you have to ask that, you haven’t listened to enough of the Harry Smith Anthology.










And, yes, I know that this is a tenor banjo and not a normal one, but the normal 5-string banjo doesn’t accommodate well to my playing style. Fucking needlessly short fifth string.
