It's been one of those mornings.  I was looking for where to buy a gift subscription to Kindle Unlimited for my brother-in-law.  Instead I accidentally signed up for myself.  So I talk to an agent and they agree to cancel and refund Kindle Unlimited.  Instead, they canceled my music subscription.  So I had to talk to another agent.  Supposedly I'll be getting two refunds, leaving me no worse for the wear.  Otherwise my adventure will have been an expensive mistake.  Thankfully it didn't delete all my music playlists in the process.

That would really suck.

Fire engine and ambulance showed up at a group home at the end of our block and across the street, lights but no siren. They got the gurney out and left it in the yard. A few minutes later they walked a man out, put him on the gurney and strapped him down in the sitting up position then off they went.

I found a roasting pan that I like.  It's really affordable at $20.  The handles aren't ideal, but I like the rest of it.  The more I read about them, the more I like the idea.

I sincerely like the lines on that one. All of my roasting pans are the oval-shaped enamelware type.

I like the enamelware, but I'm not a fan of the oval shape.  I've got a small enamelware broiler that gets a lot of use.  I'm looking at enameled steel next if I like this one and it gets used.  Martha Stewart and Pioneer Woman make enameled steel with liftout handles for the rack.  The only thing I don't like is they're rather deep.

When dad was in his final days, he had a stash of liquor smuggled in by his girlfriend.

One day he asked for a drink of vodka and cranberry juice.  She thought it looked a little strong so looked for something to dilute it with.  She found a Mt. Dew bottle in his bedside table so she added some of that.  Dad took a sip and remarked that it was a pretty stiff drink.  Turns out my niece had brought him some rum in the Mt. Dew bottle.

At the end of my dad's days I'd sneak in shots of peppermint schnaps, he loved it in his coffee. Never enough to cause a problem.

We all figured it certainly wasn't going to hurt anything.  They already had maxed out pain meds.  If a dying man wants a drink...who are we to say no?
