I had great weather for traveling and on the way back, manageable traffic.  Hope your journey goes well!

pro tip: I-40 sucks, too many big rigs.

So far so good, were 1200km I'm with 2900km to go.  Weather is great, traffic is next to nothing - we are sticking to the toll highways, pretty uneventful really.

You know, I had forgotten just how much I enjoy being out on the open road by myself.  With all the running from this visit to that visit I just simply enjoyed being in car listening to an audiobook, listening to music old and new, and sometimes just enjoying quiet solitude.

If I can swing it, I hope to get up to Wisconsin in the early fall...my best friend is fighting breast cancer right now and I want to see her.

Starting a new KDrama. I was going to stir-fry tonight, but I didn't have the energy.

I seriously just ordered sympathy cards in bulk.

Two family deaths in the last two days and most likely at least one more in the next month or so.  Sadly, one of the losses was a 32 year old woman who was ignored by doctors with her complaints until they finally figured out she had very advanced ovarian cancer.  She was put in hospice last Wednesday and gone last night after a more than two year battle with the disease and the doctors.  Midol doesn't fix all "female" problems.

***Correction - she was put into Hospice Care this Wednesday and gone last night.  Not even two days in Hospice.

Condolences all around.

I googled it and one route goes thru Des Moines/Cedar Rapids. If you take that route I'd meetcha.

I have taken that route before.  If it turns out to be doable...we will see what we can do to meet.  Des Moines is probably better than CR.  Will definitely keep it in mind!
