I agree. There was a lot of turning. Part of the reason, to be honest, that he was on my ignore list is that I recognised his mental state and didn't want to respond with anything nasty to his posts.

I'm the first to admit that I can get really nasty on occasion, so it's better for me not to respond at times to posts from people that might make them worse.

Yea, I see. I never watched those videos in the off topic section, until today. lol I'm a bit slow on the uptake.

Well, he's my online friend, and when we talk in pm, he's great. He's got a nice way about him. But, I know he has problems. I told him actually recently, to let AF go. Maybe it will just take time.

The moral of the story. I need to never take any hiatuses from here again.

I do understand why he was banned, and honestly...I think he does, too. I thought it was only to do with the phone number thread, though.

So...I'm feeling thirsty too, but need a stiffer drink, I'm thinkin.'

I'm not denying that he could be a good friend online, and I understand his mental state. In another life we could likely be good friends. But, in all honesty, it's been two years now since I finally put the previous online drama behind me - and it partially took the disintegration of the aforementioned forums and the loss of several online "friends" to do it.

I just don't want to be dragged back into it.

Better to avoid it in the first place.

In all honesty he always struck me as creepy and disturbed.

I've encountered the type online before and recognised the persecution complex of someone who actually stalked myself and a number of other people online, a number of years back, so I suspected what we would encounter.

Unfortunately I was right. The previous person I had encountered kept trying to make sock accounts and get onto a forum I ran - which was closed and invitation only.

Some symptoms are easy to spot, especially if you've encountered them before. For my part, he ended up on my ignore list fairly quickly.

I honestly understand. He apologized to me for asking for my number, which I wasn't giving out. I think it's wise to be private on the net, for sure. That's not it. I get that people thought he was creepy, or his behavior was outlandish...but, there were people that seemed like they cared about him. Liked him. It's hard to read those same people's very negative comments towards him, now that he is banned.

I talk to him on the other site, I see the good in him. He was very up front when he came to the site here...in his opening thread. I think he has a few disorders, some personality related, some manic, that he's admitted. Again, I saw the phone number thread, and that was over the top...I told him that. That's not it. What is sad to me is there were certain people who acted like they liked him, and now they act like he's the worst villain alive. lol

I actually liked him. I gave him my number and my email address, and I was fine with talking to him. I asked him not to call me every day, I told him that when I don't answer, that means I can't talk, and that he shouldn't call me right back. Our first conversation on the phone was nice, even if he asked me weird questions right off the bat (Birthday, where I live, etc). I knew what to expect, I was not surprised by any of that.

He told me he wanted to talk to my girlfriend, I told him no. He continued to poke and prod about it, being very inappropriate. He then started to call me 3 or 4 times a day, until I blocked his number, which happened to be the same day he got banned.

I would have actually continued to talk to him on email if he hadn't created 90 sock accounts, tried to extort the staff here, and been completely inappropriate. I feel for him, but he's self destructive, abusive, has no respect for people's boundaries; I don't need that shit in my life.

I wish him the best, but I don't want anything to do with him.

Well, maybe not that, but I have lost an expensive book about meditation's effect on the brain. I half wish I could lose my mind so that I'd stop worrying about it.
