Did not reply, and don't intend to. I deleted it. It took me by surprise, honestly...for I don't dwell on him and all that, anymore. But, interesting to note, six months ago, a year ago...I would have been spinning over it. The human mind is an incredible thing. It needs to process loss. Even if the loss was a good thing to have happen. It takes time to detach from those who you know were bad for you. I'm no longer emotionally attached to this guy, and so when I was reading the letter, and I honestly skimmed through it, because it was just stupid to me at this point...I really viewed it objectively. I thought ...this guy must be low on female attention lately, so he's circling back to what he knows. And abusers tend to think that their prior victims have not changed, like they haven't. But, I've worked hard on myself since that breakup, and it feels really great, to be inidfferent. I share this here, to help others, only. If my situation could help another person leave a toxic relationship, that would be a good thing.
It's sad though, that he never learns. Most likely, a fuckload of karma has come upon the boy...lol And he now is crawling back to me. If I were still emotionally vested, I'd reply to him. But, what it took for it to end...was me. I had the power to end the abusive cycle, the entire time.
Now...off to get some things done. Thx for listening, peoples.

I know I'm bending the rules of the thread a little, since this happened yesterday, but hey.
Was over at Shell's again, helping out in the garden while we still had the weather. Part of it involved clearing out what has been relabelled the outhouse, but which originally would have been the outside loo and adjacent coalhole. It's become home to ancient furniture, misc junk and obscenely huge spiders.
We managed to drag out what once was a beautiful sofa finished in ivory coloured leather upholstery, freeing up a load of space. Then we were faced with what to do with it once it was out.
I forget whose idea it was, but I ended up dismantling it.
With a chainsaw.
There's no manlier feeling than standing with a throbbing machine in your hands and penetrating something hard and unyielding. Well ok, there's one, but Shell won't let me do that yet and certainly not in the garden. Even she was getting all worked up and excited by the whole thing - I've seldom seen her like that.

Was about to mow the lawn. Then it started pouring. Now I'm making a lawn mowing playlist. Mostly hair metal, with some Steely Dan and Doobie Brothers mixed in...
Now I have to go mow the wet lawn...

Waiting for pizza and the IndyCar road race from Indianapolis at 12:30 on ABC. Should be interesting. I like standing starts in "European" motorsports, but for an IndyCar race?! Guess we'll see.

Shell and I have seen a car we're buying together, from a guy in Worcester. So just sorting out train times for tomorrow, with a friend who works for the railways.

Yeah, I know. But who was it who said "A man's reach must exceed his grasp, or what's a heaven for?"
Maybe I ought to have said "since".
