No, I'm aux naturale. And dealing with my handicap isn't as big a deal as it may seem to someone without a handicap. It's a learning curve. Many common things were problematic at first, but you learn to handle most ordinary tasks, using available surfaces, other body parts, mouth, the forces of momentum and gravity and so on. It's not as difficult as I'm sure it sounds to a lot of people. I just 'do' just like anybody else and hardly think about it. Fortunately, I was a very fast touch typist prior to losing my fingers, so I still type fairly quickly because my "body" knows where the letters are, and so my hand just flies back and forth across the keyboard without me having to think about it. My friends on IRC joke that I type faster with one finger than they do with ten. My handicap is not a big deal. Only things which regularly give me difficulty are, a) picking up thin, flat items off a flat surface like the floor, and b) using credit card readers which have the guard designed to only accomodate regular fingers. In the latter, I either use a needle nose pliers which I sometimes carry with me, or ask somebody to do it for me. I've been looking into those foldable multi-tools with pliers built-in, hoping to find one that I can just leave on my keychain, but I have not found a suitable one yet. (Maybe. There was a bargain one for $10 at Homo Depot, but I'm dead broke until the first of the month, so I didn't buy it.)
Oh, and pokie, I think I'll manage. I had similar concerns in buying an Android tablet, but like other handicap challenges, you work it out. It hasn't been a significant issue on the tablet. Swipe, double tap, and regular entry/selection make up the bulk; the rest I will manage, improvise, work around, or simply won't do. That final category ends up being rather small. (I curently own and use an LG500 dumb phone. It's more compact and has a teeny qwerty keyboard, but I manage fine with it. Only certain gestures may be problematic, like pinch-zoom. Another reason for the larger, highres screen, so that such gestures are less often needed. On top of that, most of the time I'll also have my 10" tablet with, which I can tether thru 4G and do whatever I can't on the smaller device.)
Oh yeah, I gotta pick a plan. It'll be data heavy, due to the tablet, so I'll have to research and satisfice.

Awesome!
You're my new hero! And I don't even know if you're male of female!
If I may... how did you come to lose so many fingers?

Throwing together stuff in my suitcase for Sacramento and maybe Berkeley, tomorrow through Sunday. Also listening to NPR.

Apo,
Is the Galaxy Note 3 too big for you? I'm wondering if the pen option might work out better for you. Not sure on how the price compares to the S4 but its the phone my wife and I are leaning towards with our next contracts.
The screen is excellent too.

Adrift in the Friend Zone, basically. It's just like the Twilight Zone only the groundhog day-like ending is eminently predictable. So far and no farther; if I strain at my leash I get a blow on the nose and sent back to my corner. Which I also get when I've served my useful purpose, actually. Unrequited love's a bitch, especially when the vague promise of requitement (it's a word - deal with it) is dangled in front of me.

Set a deadline for getting your needs met and stick with it. Then you can concentrate on other things. Don't accept your needs not being co-equal to hers and wait for her to decide to accomodate yours (or not). You have needs and value. If she isn't going to recognize that and reciprocate, or can't, someone else will, and the longer you delay, the later you will find that other person, and the lower the chance of doing so.
imho.

The standard noun would be 'requital'.

I bend words to my will. They bow before me and tremble at my wrath. They're about the only things over which I have any influence. Besides which, I know you're absolutely right in your assessment. My day has been and gone.
