It's the noun version of "metric," a standard of measurement.
A Metric for Adult Education could be a minimum standard that would prove a person ready for undergraduate studies.

It is now officially six years to the day that I saw the light in my sweet, sweet Princess's eyes for the final time.
I think that's all I want to say about that.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
