There are these sort of enclosures where they let the sea in and trap it there, in the sweltering sun.
Water evaporates, sealing salt behind. Simple!
Scrape it off, sell for profit!

Neither is particularly abundant in the universe in general, which doesn't help their abundance on earth .  Furthermore, Chlorine is relatively rare even compared to sodium. 145ppm compared to 23000ppm. Sodium is actually the sixth most common element, about between 1/3 and 1/2 the abundance of iron (in the crust).

It's silicon, oxygen, and aluminum for the most part.

There is a constraint that we are talking about Earth.

In the universe, it would be Hydrogen, Helium, and Oxygen IIRC - at least "now" in time.

ETA - also the numbers I gave were for the earth's crust. I don't know that there's enough hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen to skew the numbers. Not off the top of my head anyways.
