We had to depend on LMA and Boeing, later ULA, for launch vehicles. SpaceX got a lot of people from those companies, and are beating the pants off them boys with that rocket that can return to a launch pad and be recycled for launch in 48 hours. Both things were just unheard of until they did it. And they're doing it for a fraction of the cost.
Sounds kind of like a Challenger waiting to happen.  48 hours to turn around a vehicle that can literally propel a human out of the Earth's atmosphere... not a rocket I'd want to get on board.
Yeah, I must say that last night as I watched, I was kind of thinking SpaceX was overdue for a severe anomaly along those lines. It's a good trick to have for unmanned flights, but keep it for that, methinks.

Also, landings have been impressive (even if the camera cuts out right at the moment of touchdown). But not perfect. Is this the landing plan for when we send people back up, too?

Getting ready for work. I have a client tonight. Let's hope she keeps her appointment.

Out of breath, but I actually finished something I started for once.
Does this mean your cats can finally get their butts off the couch and lay in their cat tree?    Mine loooooove both of theirs.
Nope... the same three lazy fucks are all back on the couch again today. I swear, it's a thing with them.

No, that's just the first stage booster. It wouldn't carry people back to earth. They have the Dragon capsule for that, and I think that the Russians still have some of their Shuttle knock-offs. This rocket delivers them to LEO and returns. It has delivered spacecraft to GEO, I think, but that requires a second stage, so the booster still comes back and parks.

At least it's not life threatening. The foot will be fine. <3

Yeah it's more annoying than anything. I'd go to my regular doctor but she can't get me in until next week.

That's what the ER is for anyway, but the only problem is the exorbitant price tag; makes you wish it was on your toe, though.

It not quite the ER, it's like a regular clinic that you don't need an appointment for.

As far as the price tag, I've met my deductible for the year, so there's no out of pocket cost.

Just confirmed I'm going to be working A&E (ER) from the beginning of November.
