What's everyone up to right now?

Yup, but between this and a few songs on the latest Puscifer album, I'm beginning to think he's lost his fastball when it comes to lyrics.

Meh.

I admit that lyrics can be beautifully written or poorly written. As is the case with beautiful poetry.

But to me... a truly musically brilliant song is still musically brilliant if you replace the lyrics with vocal "oohs" and "aahs" that sound great.

I know I'm weird but that's how I see music.

The problem is that the rest of the song is utterly ordinary, too.

Like I said, the whole thing feels lazy.

Oh well then it's not good then.

That sucks.

I assume you've heard Tool. Here's one of my favorite songs ever:

And it would be 99% as good without the words. Just "ahh"s "ees" and "oohs" with MJK's voice + the awesome music is 99% of the greatness of a song for me. But that could be because I'm more of a music guy than a poetry guy. But I do recognize a meaningful poem when I see it. But I just love music.

I compartmentalize everything.

I'm a huge Tool fan, so, yeah, I've heard of them Tongue

Saw them live a couple times. Unfortunately, they don't come up to New England very often, and when they do it's usually at a time/venue I can't easily go.

Hey wanna take this to PM? If you are a huge Tool fan we may have some other bands to share with each other.

Got my annual flu shot on the way to work this morning.

Cut up a bunch of wood for my renovation project.

About to head out to renew my library card, and pick up a few ingredients for supper.

Well... I'm in a panic because one of my sons has a physical today and he needs forms to be filled out for the school's wrestling program. The problem is, the school never gave me the "Official PIAA Physical Form" that the physician needs to fill out. So now, I've been on the phone with the High school. Twice. Well - he's not in the high school. He's in the middle school. But the wrestling program is run from the High school. Now I hear that we have to fill out some other forms online. I can't do that because the Athletic director never gave my son an ID for us to be able to do all the online paperwork. I wanna yell. This day is becoming increasingly frustrating for me. I don't want to have to go back to the doctor at a later date and get him to fill out these forms, when my son is going there today. What a mess.

OMG All I wanna do is get the damn form and be done with it.

A punch walk... is that when you walk to someone and punch them in the face?

Wouldn't that be great if that were a thing?

No, it's when you visit a project site when it's like 98% complete and review the contractor's work for conformance to the design documents and tell them all the stuff that needs fixing before the owner officially occupies the space.

Like yesterday the most that I really found was that there was some needed paint touch ups, the cabinetry needs to be cleaned of pencil marks, there was a dodgy outlet, some plastic laminate missing, and one of the drawers didn't have the right kind of drawer pull. It's finicky, detail-oriented stuff, but it's also stuff I don't normally do because I'm usually in more of a support role than a project management role in my office.

The last punch walk I went on was in 2015 for a whole building that we built out that was super cool to walk because I actually got to see the finished outcome of what I had spent a hard 6 months helping design. Big Grin
