My mind went to a totally inappropriate M2.

One thing I've learnt is to not get excited too early ..Everything may change by then.

Lots of cool developments coming... We've got intel dektop cpus now with 12? 16? cores.
Fuck I'm still on 4 (quadcore) and I only upgraded 2-3 years ago!
Memory bandwidth has gone leaps and bounds (as you know)

I'm just reading stuff to pass the time. The new Ryzen processors are an interesting development. My current build is five years old, and unless something goes tits up, I don't intend on replacing it anytime soon. It's more than adequate for web and email. Big Grin

Recently did a new PC build and went with a 500 Gig M.2 SSD. They're tiny, they're incredibly fast and they're supposed to be longer lasting and more reliable. The slot on my motherboard places it behind the back end of the video card, though. If it does fail, it's gonna be a bitch to pull and replace where the SATA 6Gig drives are easy to reach in a 3.5 in. drive bay.

Putting together a hypothetical computer build. I figure it would take about $850 to upgrade my sister's computer (Ryzen 5 2400G, MSI B350 Tomahawk mobo, Antec case, Seasonic PSU, Windows 10, Samsung PCIE SSD, etc).
