What did you make?

I taught myself how to make quilts this year (since I have lots of time to not go anywhere) so my kids got quilts for Christmas.  They were all experiments (the quilts not the kids) so maybe next year they will get some of better quality. 

I made a wooden placard with a lyric from Danny's Song by Kenny Loggins. It's a song that always makes her cry, and Daniel is my name. When I have full privileges, I'll have to post some of my wood projects to show you guys.

It always starts as an experiment. Quilting is a wonderful skill to have. There was a lady I knew in my ward when I was a teenager and I remember she'd always make baby blankets for new, expecting mothers. Do your quilts have patchwork? Or are you knitting them?

I am making patchwork quilts.  I hadn't done any sewing in several years but started in the spring making masks.  That made me realize how much I missed sewing and making a quilt was something I had always wanted to do.  The first one I made is out of the same fabric I made the first batch of masks out of...so it's my Pandemic 2020 quilt.  I made seven last year and have finished one this year and have three or four more in the works.  Oh, and I made a couple for the dogs so I don't have to keep beach towels on the couch.  It's become an obsession but at least the results are useful.
