Okay, so here’s what it looks like now:
And I managed to get a view of the floor underneath the floor that wasn’t covered with a semi-transparent piece of plastic:
I almost wished we had just kept that, but, then again, I saw some of the tiles were broken.
Also, I ordered a 4K steelbook Blu-ray of Angel Heart from Best Buy. Very strangely, Best Buy did not send a receipt. But at least I got a receipt from PayPal. Don’t know if the 2k Blu-ray Disc included is going to include the Movie and not just the special features, but, let’s face it, it’s still got two pluses over the previous blu-ray: 1) it actually includes all the features from the DVD release, and 2) it’s actually in print. And hopefully, it comes in before I leave for Wisconsin. And I hope this leads to a proper release that isn’t just a limited edition. FTR: I don't have a 4K player, and, oddly enough, I do have a 4K copy of Trainspotting 2 because, for whatever reason, Amazon insisted on sending that version and not the regular Blu-Ray and the 2K disc in that one works properly.

Ho-hum. Spending a bunch of money during Amazon Prime Days. So far I've got a $350 SSD that I'd planned to buy this year, and a 3-cup electric veggie chopper and a multi-piece screwdriver kit, both a little under $20. I still have some shopping to do, but I'm a bit burned out on it at the moment. I have some hopes of finding birthday gifts for my sisters, but their birthdays aren't until late August, so I can't get anything that they might need or want to return. That limits things considerably.

Buying more stuff on Amazon. I found an ultrawide gaming monitor at an excellent price. That makes three big-ticket items that I was going to purchase by year-end out of the way. I had considered waiting until early 2023 to buy an ultrawide monitor, due to budget concerns, but this should work. I've basically reconsidered my earlier plan to upgrade the guts of my computer, seeing as it would only yield a 10% performance improvement in games, which I shouldn't need once I upgrade my graphics card at the end of the year. The card that I bought a couple of months ago might even be fine for 1440p ultrawide displays. It's recommended as a capable 1440p gaming card, but the ultrawide adds something like 30% more pixels to the screen, which means it needs a more powerful card. At least that's the theory. I'll have to see how well it performs in practice on the games I play.

I behaved with Amazon Prime days, only signing up for Kindle Unlimited for a great price for 4 months. I have already cancelled it so I don't forget. Also a good deal for a couple months of Audible...also going to cancel.
Only package coming from Amazon is an assortment of critter foods and treats. I'd have ordered them anyway.
But, hell's bells, the 25 lb. bag of parrot food I usually get went from $45 to over $70. Bought it through Chewy instead as I got a 40% savings if I bought two smaller bags. Didn't think parrot food was going to go the way of gas prices....holy shit.

I received the $12.50 promotional credit for buying an Amazon gift card this morning, and dropped it on a $230 computer power supply. I had forgotten the credit was due to arrive at any time and was placing orders left and right this morning. This wouldn't be the first time that I've applied a credit to a purchase that I either canceled or returned. I have been mulling over this power supply purchase for about a week, and I noticed the credit email and applied it to something that likely won't be canceled or returned. I had purchased the same power supply and returned it a few months back. It dropped in price significantly, and I decided to risk it becoming obsolete sooner rather than later, even though new power supply specs are in the pipe and should start showing up in actual products in the next 6-18 months. I saved $55 over the price I paid several months ago, and by buying it now, I saved an additional $55 which I would have spent on a power supply for a new machine. This way, the new machine will get the hand-me-down that's currently in my desktop PC.
