There's a new Echo Show 5 coming out at the end of the month. And I've got $50 worth of trade-ins that I can apply to the cost. I have a first-generation one that I bought as refurbished or recertified or something, and the thing is practically deaf. Presumably, they improved the microphones on this, the third generation. I should wait until Prime Days in July, though. In the meantime, I've got an unused Echo Dot somewhere which will suffice for a while. They've got better directional microphones, but they don't have the 5" LED screen. I just don't know what I did with it. I looked unsuccessfully the other day.

Made an online purchase for a present for the boyfriend. It should arrive a few days before his birthday.

He's been using the same old coffee tumbler for years, a worn out plastic thing with the display rubbed off it.

Went ahead and purchased for him a new tumbler of his favorite football team, The Steelers. It will be monogrammed with his name.

Enjoying some bourbon we picked up on the trail down to Talladega, watching my puppy meet her boyfriends by the lake. We picked up two more cats and, if we’re lucky, I’ll have mommy puppy pics soon.

Ginger beer and lime goes together, never thought about putting orange juice in it, but why not?

So, I've been back for at work for 5 weeks after my cervical spine happy fun times. Last Saturday, my lumbar spine sat up and said hello. Saw a doc today that a friend recommended, have orders for an MRI, I learned of an imaging clinic that accepts walk-ins for MRI.

Getting ready for a big weekend. Granddaughter graduates from high school Saturday evening. She is in the top 10% of her class and has earned some scholarships for the college of her choice. Three of her friends are going to the same school and she will be rooming with one of them while the other two room together. That school and town don't have any idea what's coming their way.

Sunday will be a day off then on Monday she has requested a crawfish boil. A family friend hosted the first one she went to as a kindergartner and he is going to cook for this one. I plan to make a pineapple upside down cake to add to the dessert table.

When we moved here she was a year old. It's hard to believe she is graduating and heading off to college. But first she has quite a busy summer planned.
