I remember having no AC as a child. We finally got a swamp cooler. We were way too poor for AC, either for the installation or the electric bill. I truly am lucky to not have ended up on the street.

My parents got AC the year I left home, still makes me wonder.

The swamp cooler was turned off during meals, as it was right in the dining area. My mom put a window AC unit in a window there after my dad died, in '88.

One of those support braces? Or are you growing a tit out of your knee?   I got a cortisone shot in my knee last week, and it has helped quite a bit (hurt like hell at the time, though!). Of course, it doesn't replace the cartilage, it just reduces the pain.

My knee doesn't hurt but has times when it's unstable, usually after I stress it to hard. The cause is a 40 year old ACL tear, it creates constant near falls. Looking back I probably f'd it up when I was pushing 300lbs of yard supplies to the car.

Feeling pretty good. I have been working hard to fix my credit/financial situation. Cancer really wiped me out some years back and I have been behind ever since. I have been playing the credit card shuffle. I was offered, and accepted, a loan and paid off all my cards. I can easily pay off the loan even by paying less per month on the balance than I have been paying on my cards. And, if my health gets under control, I will actually be able to afford a trip east this year like I have been trying to do since COVID was sent here by China.

When I told them that wasn't happening, they said they'd have to put my account on hold for 48 hours while they ran a scan from their end and they quickly ended the conversation and hung up. They're getting cleverer and cleverer.
