Lexy caught and gutted a rabbit last night. We thought she was to old and fat, apparently not. Maybe she's getting sneakier.

If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Trying some Walmart "bettergoods" Colombia coffee. It's got a funky note to it, but it's still at least as good as coffee from the Keurig. I picked up some whole bean Costa Rica from a local cafe. Today my new coffee maker should arrive. It's a Ninja 12-cup that I only paid $59 for at Walmart. Still, I'm debating whether to keep it, or return it and put that money towards a really good coffee maker. I have similar concerns about my coffee grinder, which has never been great. The only silver lining is that last night I remembered that I used to drink a specific blend of coffee from an upscale grocery chain that's local to me. Only certain of their stores carry it, but after my coffee maker is delivered, I'll run down and get some.

Looking at coffee maker reviews. I think I'll stick with the $60 Ninja for now, as I tend to get intensely interested in something, spend a lot of money, then become less interested. At $60 this is a small investment and gives me plenty of options for playing around. Come next Thanksgiving, I can evaluate again and decide whether it's worth the money to spend $200-300 on a coffee maker. According to many reports, despite being inexpensive, the Ninja is supposed to make a very good cup of coffee. Maybe not as consistently or as well, but there are other variables that probably matter more, most important being buying better coffee. I'm still undecided about a grinder. I think if I do go with a grinder then I'll get the Baratza Encore. It's twice the price of the Oxo or Capresso, but unlike them, it actually does a good job grinding across its full range of settings and won't need upgrading.
