RE: What's everyone up to right now?

Though my appointment to renew my driver's license isn't until June, I figured I would make sure I have everything I need to renew it. The rule used to be that you could renew online every other time which should be the case this time around.
When I got the notification that I had to appear in person, I thought it may be because of my age and they wanted to be sure I can still see. But that is not the case. I have gathered, to make the powers that be happy, my birth certificate, my marriage license, and my DD214, and my Social Security card. The potential problem as I see it is that my birth certificate has my maiden name on it. My DD214 has my first married last name. None of these match my current license and last name. If I disappear in mid to late June, figure that ICE got me.
Sheesh. I have only had a driver's license since about 1973. Next thing will be I can't vote anymore. But then, none of us may ever be able to vote again.

I need to renew mine. I get a reduced fee state ID because I'm not right in the head. Apparently they need me to provide proof every time that I renew. I started the pre-application for a Real-ID, figuring that it'd be better safe than sorry, until I discovered that you need a prior Real-iD or birth certificate to get one. I don't know if I still have my birth certificate somewhere, and don't want to pay the $50 to get a new copy.

Goodness, where were you born? I got mine for about $10.00.

Michigan. That's if I go through the state's services which uses a third party. If I locate the office of record, and contact them directly, it may be cheaper.

I requested mine online. Mommy dearest had long told me that the little photocopy I had was important to hold onto because the courthouse had burned down years ago and the records with it. I gave it a shot anyway with the NC Department of Vital Records and it was really cheap and arrived in less than a week even though it was over the Easter holiday.

^Actually, I went to the county office of vital statistics for the county where I was born. It still shows $10.00.

Pretty sure that's what mine cost the last time I got my security clearance renewed, in '09. Fun fact- the BC with my little footie prints from the hospital was good enough to get me into the US Navy and the first 22 years of defense work after that. For the last 5 years, it looked like Obama's form, except for the names and places, and so forth.

Working on planning a month in Europe in September. Tentatively flying into Amsterdam and traveling Scandavia and the Baltics by rail and boat.

Taking inventory of my meds to see which prescriptions have to be refilled. I have to take meds six times each day.
