Doing the dishes. I promised myself that I'd do a few plates, given how long I've procrastinated. I ended up doing them all.
I got my SSDs situated on the new motherboard. Next up is to move it into a case. I've got a tube of thermal paste I need to go pick up before I do, though.

Congratulations to you, the wife, and your daughter! It's exciting to see them reach milestones. Now I do that with my grandkids with one graduating HS last year, one graduating college with her BA this year...and a new one that just turned three months old. But he's already making a name for himself and has been called a flirt by the daycare staff.
College grad starts her masters study tomorrow!

So deep in a chain of causality it's hard to remember where it began.
We need to transfer our car's registration from one Mexican state to another. In order to do this, we need to get an 'e-firma' (electronic signature) from the tax authority SAT.
SAT needs proof of address, even though our address has not changed from when we obtained our tax IDs years ago. They want a current utility bill with our name on it. We don't have it, so off to the electric utility (CFE) we go.
I should mention that Mexico's bureaucracy is legendary, and so nobody bothers to change the names on utility bills unless absolutely necessary.
CFE says no problem, we can change the name on the account, we need you to get the previous owner to release responsibility for the solar interconnect to us. Oh, and we'll need a notarized statement from the notario who handled the deed on our home. We don't have any of those things either so more documents to track down. I fully expect another layer of bureaucracy because the deed is held in a trust.
This week is pretty much dedicated to sorting all of this.

Pulling motherboards, one from an open-air test frame, and one from a PC case. The one from the frame will go in the case, but not today. One step at a time. I've got a package to run to Fedex tomorrow and some better thermal paste to pick up at the Amazon Counter downtown. When I pulled the heatsink, the MX-4 had completely covered the heat spreader (the metal top of a CPU). I won't say cleaning off thermal paste is my least favorite job, but it's not a favorite either. Thankfully I've got good tools and plenty of practice. The MX-6 that I'm picking up is thicker and will degrade slower. So, instead of having to redo the job in 2-3 years, I can leave it for 5 years.

Added a Westlife album to my Spotify. Nearly ten hours of music just there.

I need to make baked Ziti. I've only had it once at a mall, but it sounds delicious.

Calculating my monthly payments. I'm only $20 over for the month.
