Pouting because I was going to Birmingham today to visit my little brother, but they had a whole 6 inches of snow down there and the entire state shut down. People were saying it took them 8 hours to get into the city last night. Stupid terrible infrastructure.

Pondering how to respond to a rejection. A year ago, I was kicked out of a Buddhist reading group for being "disruptive." A friend who I frequently see at meetups is now organizer of that group. We talked, and she said she hadn't experienced my participation as disruptive and so I asked her to discuss the matter with the organizer who originally made the decision, as I didn't want to unduly prejudice her. She did, after some prompting, and emailed me back that they didn't want me in the group. Now this woman frequently seeks my company out at meetings, appears to enjoy conversing with me immensely, and now she's implying that I'm too disruptive for her group. All I can see is that this is an obvious lie, as if she truly felt this way about me, she wouldn't seek out my company. Apparently this other organizer is still pissed off, and she's making ad hoc reasons for justifying aligning with his desires in the matter. To say the least, this rankles me, to the point I want to write an angry response, but I know better. It makes me mad when people are so obviously and transparently unethical, especially someone whom I considered a friend. And I feel a time pressure, as the email was received Monday, and I need to calm my emotions sufficiently to respond with a productive and diplomatic reply relatively soon, lest the reply languish rather suspiciously long.

I'm in Birmingham, Alabama. In case you haven't heard, it snowed here and Birmingham was like, "SHUT. DOWN. EVERYTHING." I'm now stuck in my apartment with no food and of course no stores or restaurants are open. I don't want to be melodramatic, but I'M GONNA DIE.

I've got a mess of about 30 DVDs to rip. And they need to go back to the library this week. I think tonight I'll put 4 burners in the primary workstation and just rip them all in one marathon session.

I took an extra helping of perphenazine before bed last night, so that I'd sleep especially soundly. As a consequence, much of the day I've been feeling tired. So I spent most of the afternoon in bed, napping. It's been so long since I've done that — so long since I've even been able to do that — that it felt absolutely glorious.

Now I'm up, drinking tomato broth with sriracha sauce, and munching peanut butter filled snack crackers. I may not get anything done today.
