I have a question about noah's flood.

RE: I have a question about noah's flood.
I hate the fact that they sell a "feel-good" version of the flood story to kids. The other day my son was on the computer looking at Youtube videos. He's just old enough to where he knows how to click on things, so I'll load a video for him. He'll click on the different links with it, and he happened to stumble upon a Noah's ark video for kids. My wife and mother-in-law(Catholics) were sitting there, and I said, "Hey, isn't this the one where god kills everyone on earth?"
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

But that's only because they were naughty. God didn't kill the good people.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

No, that's the one about god's beautiful promise. You know, the promise not to kill nearly everything on earth in a flood ever again. Right after doing exactly that.

I hear next time, he's just going to throw nearly everyone in a fire.

I've heard Mormons try to justify the story saying that the widespread nature of sin in the world at that time gave god the perfect opportunity to literally baptize the planet because, you know, it's alive too...and stuff...

Poorly written fiction is often full of massive holes.

Yeah;
"Sorry my children for destroying the whole planet in a flood. Here's a rainbow to signify my everlasting promise to never kill you all in a flood again. Millions will die in floods in the future but that's not me purging the earth of sin... that's the laws of nature that I created do that doesn't count. next time I'll use fire"

Christianity's total aversion to pleasure, fun and enjoyment makes them all crazy. They're all anal sects.
