Yeah, I carefully read, and you were a cunt about it and not hypothetical.

The blackness is death/Fear of death. We will all be consumed by the blackness at one point or another, therefore the qualifier 'if' is not needed as we all die or will fear death as out time on this world comes to an end.

I said 'rest assured' because no matter how devoute one is to their atheism in life, in death we all tend to want to cover our bases. Meaning there is still hope for the eternal state of fidel's father.

Yes you do. It's where your human empathy and compassion ought to be.

In other words, preaching. Thank you; a signed confession will be most helpful.
Preaching: anything that offends the sensablities of those in power.

Never mind the fact that what I said is indeed topical and was not unsolicitated.

Stop making the mistake of thinking everyone is as much of a coward as you are.

And you persist in this belief, despite having been given multiple examples in this thread to the contrary. The very definition of stupidity.

But hey, keep digging in your heels! I'm sure you'll become right if you just say you are enough times! Pull that Madness Mantra out!

No it is not, and as by the forum rules it is a discourse folowing these criteria:

- Includes a threat if a particular statement is not agreed with.
- Fails to justify said threat with evidence.
- Is repetitive.
- Directed at forum members, rather than a general description of beliefs.
- Uses negative connotations.
- Is not in response to a query regarding personal beliefs.

You hit 6/6 on that, yet you are too pridefull to admit it.

What I said was your defending what Fidel's dad has or has not done is at best a 3 hand account. If Fidel can only give a second hand account of his father's deeds then how can you accuratly repersent what this man has or has not done in his life?

Quote:Two crazy thoughts: one, you could actually do the latter. You didn't: what you did, was make sure that we knew you thought that, in the moments before death, we'll spend our time begging for mercy.
have you faced certain death? Only the truly sucidal embrace death. All others will do what they can to live. If one accepts his death, then there is a final appeal to simply cover his bases the best that he can. That is all that was said.

Quote:You didn't mention heaven, you didn't mention being saved from hell. But you sure as fuck made sure to emphasize the weakness of the position we'd be in, as if the smugness didn't drip off of your posts usually anyway.
I did not mention either as to again persent a netural oppertunity to fill in what you wanted to see. I treated this situation no differently than how I was treated when I shared my HIV experience, but suddenly I am the monster. Maybe you all hypocrits should revisit some of the things you told me.

Again what I shared was not hear say. It was a first hand account from the person who experienced the situation.

Quote:Crazy thought number two: you could do both things, rather than turning a sad story into an opportunity to preach, you fucking vulture.
How was that any different that what I did with my own story?

Again I shared my experiences with you all not to gain sympathy, but to talk about lie, death and what is beyond, as the subject of the conversation was already headed in that direction.

Why should any of your experiences demand a greater respect than my own?

I was told I should have died from AIDS, that I should Pray that God give me AIDS again, that my whole family should die of AIDS... Where were the self righteous defenders of pop morality that day? Where was Stimbo and the verbal warnings then? Why was it ok for me to be blasted for trying to share a mirical, and it is not OK to say that a man on his death bed (Lest he is a Misotheist) will cry out to God?

again from experience, I am no different. I did not treat this man's situation any worse then my own nor did I stoop to the level you 'good' people did either. I gave him the same respect as I gave myself sharing a similar situation. What more is there to give?

What Threat? I Said there is hope for this man to enter Heaven. You saw a threat that was not there.. Or show me where I said this man would goto Hell.

Quote: - Fails to justify said threat with evidence.
Again the burden of proof is on you to first show a threat.

Quote: - Is repetitive.
Show me where I repeated anything in the Post in question.

Quote: - Directed at forum members, rather than a general description of beliefs.
Fidel's dad is not a forum member. if he is he was not mentioned by name or screen name.

Quote: - Uses negative connotations.
From the Merrium webster:
1a : the suggesting of a meaning by a word apart from the thing it explicitly names or describes b : something suggested by a word or thing : implication <the connotations of comfort that surrounded that old chair>
2: the signification of something <that abuse of logic which consists in moving counters about as if they were known entities with a fixed connotation — W. R. Inge>
3: an essential property or group of properties of a thing named by a term in logic — compare denotation

show me where I used a connotation positive or negitive.

Quote: - Is not in response to a query regarding personal beliefs.
My orginal statement was in direct response to what fidel said about what he thought his father personally believed.

Quote:You hit 6/6 on that, yet you are too pridefull to admit it.
Again show me. Explain yourself or acknoweledge that your just hiding behind rules that do not apply to this situation.

You dumb schmuck, that was not the matter. You used Fidel's dad to emotionally push his buttons, so the member we're talking about is Fidel.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

I did not mention fidel's dad, till FIDEL brought him Up as some sort of trump card to prove his point!

Fidel used his dad's situation to underscore what fidel believes. Which makes fidel's dad apart of the subject matter being discussed. If Fidel did not want his dad's situation to be discussed critically then he should not have used his dad's situation to stab home his point. If he were looking for sympathy, then he should have said I'm looking for support or sympathy. Or post this situation in a support forum. That is not what he did. He used his father as a speaking point to drive his personal feeling/message about life and death, at which point he dad ceased to be protected by any spoken rules of conversation.

there is no innocents here. so if you do not want something to be critically examined then it should not be discussed here period. I share about 90% of my life here and all of it has been sent through the meat grinder. For that 10% I do not share, will Never be discussed as that part of my life is not up for discussion. anything else is fair game.

So to should be the rules for everyone else here not just 'Christians.'

Am I abnormal in not wanting an eternity of life ahead of me after death?

Quite happy to live the shit out of this life and check out, personally. My mantra has always been - "I'll sleep when I'm dead." and I am trying to build up as big a backlog as possible.

To me it sounded like you were continuing with an "atheists are being disingenuous because they wouldn't worship god even if we proved it," thing, and that's just not true. If that's not what you were saying, could you rephrase?

I always leave room for the possibility I could be missing something, after all. Tongue
Yes, that's what I was saying. You said that proof doesn't mean you'd automatically worship, which seems like agreement with my position.
