Really? The persecution card?

You can't see warnings issued to others, how can you know we warn christians more than atheists?
Who said anything about the amount of warnings issued? Don't try and red herring your way out of what was actually said!

Which was if 'human decency' is not a rule, then it should not be enforced as a rule. Right now 'human decency' is a catch all term 'no preaching' use to be. It's anything thing you do not like to hear. So why would I argue one way or another, on what those in power will allowed to be said?? I only pointed out that I am being formally repermanded by one of those in power simply because i said something his sensitive ears did not like.

Again if you want the trivial right to censor at will unpopular speech, then just make a rule that says you have that power. Don't hide behind unspoken rules. Be proud of who you are and accept your own oppressive natures.

The Rules Wrote:Atheist Forums reserves the right to enforce the following rules as the staff sees fit. This disclaimer is for the sake of allowing the spirit of the rules to trump any literal interpretation of the rules.

You lose.

Again There is no Rule concern Human decency... Your just making crap up as you go to fill in the gaps your published rules have. If there is no rule then there can't be an interpertation of said lack of rules can their?

You know jack shit about my nature. Have fun autocomiserating yourself for your persecution complex. The warning is given and I tried to show you why you were warned. Do that again and I will have no complex to recommend a ban.

Dude, I took my que from you... I get the sociopath thing if I just randomly knew your dad had cancer and then pulled that card to prove a point. But, you the man with cancer very own son used said cancer to prove a point... That is you just randomly pulled this experience out of your own life to proove a point!!!

You're wrong.

The difference being, of course, to anyone who has taken even a cursory glance at the posts in question, is that I wasn't condemning people or wishing grave illnesses upon them in order to prove a point. I was utilizing my own, personal experience to disprove your assertion that everyone bends a knee upon their death bed.

A ludicrous assertion by anyone's standard. Your failure to reply to others on this very subject who themselves have been on their death bed and not prayed to a god (whatever that is) is further testament to your assertion being bogus.

You've accused me of a lot of things on this thread, and all of it is unfounded. I did not use my father's terminal illness as an attack on you.

You used my example to attack not just my position, but also me directly.

I repeat, that you would even consider using any form of justification to wish (pray) cancer (etc) on others to prove a point is reprehensible and the sign of a damaged individual.

I don't need to convince you of anything. Lurkers on this thread will see the points made by both parties and reach their conclusion. Your inability to recognize the above goes further in proving you lack the human ability to empathize.

Drich Wrote:The over all point here was to have Fidel think on the fact that he could not possiably know what his dad thinks when he is not around. When it is just his dad staring into eternity. Those who have looked out over eternity/look at death because it was on a near horizon, share an experience those who haven't would have a hard time seriously understanding. That experience has one examine ALL possiablities, not just the philosphy one takes when he is healthy, and wants to have a 3some. Fidel may know who his father projects himself to be, but only God and fidel's father know who he really is.

Except you didn't phrase it in a way to make Fidel think. You phrased in a way that implied that your beliefs were correct, and that he would be kneeling before your god that you believe in. You didn't ask "what if" nor did you question how Fidel knew what his father thought. You flat out stated that he will bow before your savior when he dies. If your intent was to truly make him think, you're stupider than you come across. There was clear intention to evoke an emotional response while sanctimoniously declaring your beliefs to be true. Whining that you just intended people to think outside the box is either disingenuous, or indicative of the fact that you're fucking retarded and think that stating someone's loved one will grovel in front of your savior is a way to make people question reality.

The problem is that you can't understand that your beliefs are simply beliefs, and that is how they will come across to others. I believe society would be better off with you locked in a rubber room, but I'm not going to tell you that I've sent the men in white coats to your door.

To which I took the opportunity to quote another reasonable fellow declaring the inevitability of it all. Dirch opted to not respond to statements that are in essence identical to the sort he was personally making... a humbling experience when one recognizes it.

Well, a mere video of someone supposedly doing that shouldn't convince anyone with half-a-brain. It would have to be under controlled circumstances, and no ethical person would allow someone to drink something deadly if it could be prevented. Our skepticism isn't unlimited, though. There's a million-dollar prize for anyone who can perform a miracle (or magic, or ESP) under conditions that don't allow trickery.

Many atheists openly say that even if god were proven to them, they'd want nothing to do with him. It's not an unusual position. So, it's disingenuous to pretend that it's just a matter of evidence. James noted that the issue isn't believing in god's existence - the demons believe that much.

Double-edged sword my friend: these demons are proof that knowledge of God doesn't take away free will. On that note, shame that God won't go beyond just authoring a less-than-perfect book in order to establish his existence. It's as if he doesn't exist, or doesn't care enough to show himself beyond doubt such that the question now becomes "to follow Jesus or not" instead of "to follow Jesus or not... or Buddha, or Confucius, or Mohammed etc".

An actual demon would be excellent evidence of the supernatural, and good circumstantial evidence for the existence of God.

We have to assess each report on a case by case merit. The Staff have the right to determine how the rules are to be interpreted in each case.
BUT THERE ARE NO RULES!!!
Maybe it's because most of you are from england?? IDK BUT Here In The US. You Can't say Your Enforcing a Rule Of Law If No Such Rule Exists!

That would be like someone getting pulled over because the cop did not like what the person in the car was linstening to on the radio. How is the cop enforcing the law if there is no law concerning what he himself decides to govern?!?!

I agree that is the heart of the problem, which is why I asked of an explaination.
In My world it is not enough to simply identify a problem, one must communicated, and schedual a fix for said problem in order for their to be a resolution.

Quote: Instead of recognising that you crossed a line and having a chance to step away with a little dignity, you still persist with the persecution attitude. Have some shame, sir.
Again, no. what I did is ask you to define the problem as you saw it. To which You Stimbo did not even make the effort to do.

Then when no effort was made I escaliated the situation by illustrating how what I was being accused of was par for the course when it is the board against a Christian.
