Bible thumpers used to believe that heaven, with it's buildings, gold roads and gold thrones resided in the clouds. Now that man rides airplanes and spaceships, where did god relocate heaven?

Science doesn't require a god of the gaps either way.

If one can accept that a hurricane does not need an ocean god to cause it, then the universe and what may or may not have caused it would not require a god as a cause either.

Believers simply do not want to face that god claims are merely childish reflections of their own wishful thinking and narcissism.

The truth is that the universe is a thing, like a tornado or hurricane. It does what it does without any hand and moves only on natural law.

The objective of the Tower was not to visit God, but to put the men of bable on the Level of God. To put man (at least in the minds of the tower builders) on an even playing field as God. That was what was being broken up.

Ever try to build or assemble something with someone who does not speak your language? let alone coordinate all of the building materials, the workers, the support materials food shelter etc for the workers, directing workers, all of it would have been impossiable to push past, the very first time a different language was spoken.
