And Hells come back to haunt me

So it's not really about what the book means, but what you want it to mean?

No, it's "It's not what you say it means."... Undecided

The universe seems rational because you're a human, and can hence recognize patterns enough to see a semblance of order, assuming you're willing to cherry pick and avoid all of the things that, really, don't make a lot of sense. There's nothing inherently rational about the universe because rationality is a process that takes place in minds.

As to your second statement, I have to ask again: why are you so afraid of personal meaning? Whence springs your desperation to have the details of your life dictated to you by a god?

I didn't, the Lexicon did... "A.used of the inmost thoughts, feelings, purposes, of the soul"

More to the point, why do you still insist on the litteral reading?
Have you ever used the phrase(s) "kicked in the nuts" or "stabbed in the back" when you felt betrayed?
Would you understand that if someone else said either phrase to you?

Or are you just pretending to be an ignorant, intentional dick?

While I have used terminology just like this, it's always got that 'it's like being' tag in front of it.

And certainly writing or translating or transcribing a book that is supposed to be THE BASIS for all existence from here until doomsday, I wouldn't be using "and dude it was way too cool for school, esse" To describe something that was wondrous or amazing, breath taking.

I also wouldn't use the term 'knocked off' to describe a murder.

Or the word hooplah if I was trying to convey the term 'nonsense'....

A disagreement that requires more justification than "It doesn't mean that to me."

Look, the book has authors, right? And those authors would have to have had a specific meaning in mind when they wrote the words; there is actually only one correct answer when it comes to these interpretations, especially here in a case where the writers had special revelation from god, or what have you.

Saying that a word or phrase should be interpreted this way and not the other implies that you have a reason for saying so... or that you're stirring shit. Which is it?
