I'm a YEC. Challenge me.
RE: I'm a YEC. Challenge me.
You don't need challenging you need educating in fossils and facts. Just to point out that there is no incompatibility between God and evolution/an old Earth, even the Pope accepts it.
Come all ye faithful joyful and triumphant.

Sorry, I really don't care that the Pope accepts some aspects of science. That maffia organization has always been a Johny Come Lately. Those idiots had to be shown a space photo of the earth before they officially publicly accepted the heleocentric nature of the solar system. Something Galileo knew and look how look it took the church to apologize for that.

The Pope only adapts to remain in the public eye to market his superstition. He still peddles a book that claims a three headed god/man. Still believes in using symbolic cannibalism will save someones "soul". Still believes babies can be born without a second set of DNA. Still buys the claim that human flesh can magically survive death.

The Pope has zero credibility with me, especially with science.

Pope, "I like that too", yea now you do, where were defending the truth long before it became popular?

The Pope is no ones authority except the gullible people stupid enough to follow him.

Everyone knows there was ONE set of DNA from the mother and one magic set of DNA from whatever the other guy was.

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I don't know why the source says early; does that change the fact that this specific dating method measures what it measures, and not the original age of the rock?

Am I responsible for what beardedguy says, now? Not to badmouth him or anything, but I can hardly be held in contention for the words of another. Find out for yourself which is right; for all the shit you throw at the science here, you sure as hell seem unwilling to expend much effort in reading up on this yourself.

Quote:You started haggling yourself with the mention of 500 million years. Now you're pissed because that didn't help you.

I mentioned 500 million years as a demonstration of the timescales involved here, nothing more. And I wouldn't have to have even done that, if you'd been arguing the science from the beginning, instead of doing what you always do, which is picking at irrelevant wordings to forestall being proven wrong.

John has no other option. It's difficult enough to defend fairy tales written by uneducated tent dwellers let alone without the hassle of pulling one's own head out of a deity's ass to study real science.

Galileo was a Catholic himself of course. Genetic theory and Big Bang cosmology were first proposed by Catholics so they're not really holding science back into dark ages.

I kind of agree with you in that the Pope is essentially a guy in a big hat he isn't God representative on Earth. The whole business with the bread and wine literally transforming into the body and blood of Christ is a certainly a head scratcher though a lot of Catholics don't seem to realise that's whats suppose to be happening. If you mean the resurrection I think that would be something to do with Christs immortal non-physical body or soul if want to call it that being rejoined with his former body restoring it back to full physical life. Not as a zombie he would have been fully alive at that point. Not too ridiculous if you're not presupposing which of course would make something like this 100% physically impossible.

Well I don't think he's necessary as a religious leader with that level of power ruling over his own country living in a palace of art treasures. It doesn't seem to me what Jesus was about at all.

I guess I suppose. The new Pope is an improvement over the last one for what it's worth

Well, they're not all that hidden if you know where to look. Wink

Brief background: After studying creationism, I was encouraged to see how strong this model has become over the recent decade.
It caused me to want to search out and read arguments AGAINST creation. And the more I read them, the more convinced I became: the creation model is actually very logically solid.

But just to make sure I’ve done a thorough search, I decided to come here and ask members of an atheist forum. I’ve certainly done plenty of searching myself, googling, bing-ing, etc. I’m pretty sure I’ve read all of them, but perhaps you know of some more.
Here’s links to the ‘best’ ones I’ve found (I not included the lesser quality ones):

So, if you have any other good ones, please post them here and I will read them.

**REQUEST: PLEASE keep this thread on topic: posting challenges to YEC.
I am not interested in starting a debate, nor defending myself. I REALLY do want good information in response, from credible sources when possible (not just random thoughts).

(Fellow creationists: please don’t jump in and ramble, just listen. In fact, if you do that same research I’ve done, you might too come out very encouraged by what you believe)

-Jeff

YOU are easy to take on - we can PROVE that the bible creation is wrong

The timeline cannot be true - the earth is proven far older than the timeline of just under 6000 years of the bible - based on the actual counting of tree trunks rings (A completely accurate thing - not subject to conjecture) =- in Scandinavia and in the Western USA - that count at least 9,000 and up to 12,000 rings - or years. WE can also count the annual layers at the polls to be over 160,000 years old as well. Once I prove the earth is older than 6000 years without question - and we CAN DO THAT - we eliminate the genesis story

Obviously - we have lots of other things in the genesis book that are not true as well. And of course - your favorite myth - the chirst - is claimed to have come from a city of Nazareth - which did not exist as described in the bible at that supposed time of the christ - it was literally simply a burial area - not a town. THERE was no "Jesus of Nazareth" from that time.

I could go on - but I do not need to - since ONCE I establish that any part of the story of your nonsensical belief is wrong - it is up to YOU to get the story fixed - when they fix the bible - get back to me.
